DirtySecurity Podcast: Dave Castignola on the Next Chapter in AI-Based Cybersecurity

There’s not a whole lot in the cybersecurity sales world that David Castignola hasn’t seen. So when BlackBerry completed its acquisition of Cylance last month, who better to help talk us through the sales process than the Chief Revenue Officer at BlackBerry Cylance?

In this week’s episode of DirtySecurity, learn how legendary coach Bo Schembechler, a very active selfie-stick, and a strong adherence to successful process have helped guide Chief Revenue Officer David Castignola through the $1.4 billion acquisition and integration of Cylance into BlackBerry. You don't want to miss this one!

“We want to get into that in a leadership position,” Chen said. He added that while he would not disclose his company’s growth projections for the next year at this time, it would be “safe to say that we’re looking for good double-digit growth.”

    I can live with that.

BlackBerry Not Becoming a ‘Patent Troll,’ Says CEO

    https://www.theinformation.com/artic...troll-says-ceo

The lawsuits have sparked concerns that BlackBerry was becoming a “patent troll”—a pejorative expression for firms that use aggressive legal tactics to enforce their patent rights. Mr. Chen disputes that idea. “There’s a fine line to being a troll,” Mr. Chen said, “but we don’t go after it. Otherwise we’d be going after it a lot.”...

I take issue with this 'patent troll' nonsense.
As a holder of a 50 page patent (that I had to quit a good job to accomplish) I'd be nuts to just allow others' to swipe it from under me.

Chen is being a team player, but what I would rather, is that he just tells it like it is: --- Theft! ---
The infringers are either stealing, or they're not.
If they have infringed, then try to set a civil course (which he has through licensing options), and if they don't go for that... SUE them!

It boils down to being a good CEO, and to a lesser extent, investor obligations.

    Safe weekend guys... and Amber?

    Hi bbjdog!

Sure, I can post something for you! The Dow Jones is made up of 30 important stocks. The chart looks as follows:

The BBRY Café. [Formerly: I support BBRY and I buy shares!]-dj-march-9-2019.png

From my perspective, the DJ has been moving in a sideways pattern after having rallied off the December lows and forming a very predictable channel that took the index higher; at least until until this past week. At the time that the index was reaching overhead resistance, the RSI was also telling us that the rally might need to spend some time back filling and basing out. This is giving the 50-dma time to rally towards the 200-dma and an eventual Golden Cross. I believe we can move sideways and consolidate this recovery over the next few months. The Golden Cross will occur, the market will take another look at 26,250 and we'll finish up the year on a positive note. Yesterday, as we approached the 200-dma, you could see the buy programs kick in and lift the DJ back to more neutral levels. I see us making new, ATH's this year as the election nears.

It's worth looking at BlackBerry stock to see how the price of the stock and the completion of their acquisition is effecting said price. Here is the chart for BB:

The BBRY Café. [Formerly: I support BBRY and I buy shares!]-bb-march-9-2019.png

As you can see, the stock began its rally at the same time that the DJ bottomed out. Both of them rallied within a well defined channel until last week. Unlike the DJ, BB continued to move well inside its channel, and as soon as the acquisition was completed, it diverged from that of the boarder market. BB remains inside its channel, it continues to push hard against resistance, it is always striking its top Bollinger Band line and looks impressive against other stocks. I look for this to continue as it marches toward its 200-dma. At no point during its recovery has the stock dipped enough to call into question the strength of this rally. It hasn't touched the zero deviation line on the BB's, it hasn't hasn't even deviated much from that high end of the RSI or BB Band levels in many weeks. The stock looks great in terms of its relative strength.

I see it going to its 200-dma and pausing there before closing above that line. For its part, the RSI is at the earliest level for an overbought scenario but the BB's bands continue to expand at a fast enough pace to allow the stock price to achieve its 200-dma soon. As long as the DJ is basing out, BB will out-perform the general market as large Funds continue to move into the name again. We could end the year at a 52 week high if things play out well here. For BB, watch that channel, watch the zero deviation line or center line in the BB's to see where the stock will go next!

Hope this answers your question re: the DJ.

I am using the BB10 version of the Crackberry app. No ads ever on this side.

Perhaps since Mobile Nations which runs CB was recently sold to a new buyer who may have decided to go heavy on the ads to increase revenue??? Just a guess
