    W Hoa !!

It's far better than that, it's actually a multi-year high and could be a 4-year closing high today. Wouldn't want to be short going into Monday.

Not sure if we can do it but the chart doesn't lie and we are projecting a close of $ 12.00/shr on the 3-minute chart. This is quite the pre-exchange day move. According to my chart we tested the upward slope at $ 11.68/shr and held it no problem so now we are going to make new highs. Could we see $ 12.00/shr today?

"could be a 4-year closing high today": what level are we looking for, Morgan? Anything above $11.74?

Okay, scratch that info, we made a 33 month closing high yesterday and today all we have to do to make another is close above yesterday's high. That should be easy. My eyes are failing me. We have a one off, $ 12.60/shr close in January 2015. Aside from a couple of one off closes, we are in virgin territory for months before that. We can base out going sideways until 12:30/pm at these levels and then I expect we will have a great race to the close! (Hoping!)

PS. Update, we had two separate days of spikes in 2014 and 2015 due to take-over rumours and so aside from that we are making multi-year level closing highs now. Those two highs were crushed the next day as expected. If you pull those momentary highs out of the equation, we go back 4 plus years.

Aware that The Motley Fool is often recognized as Mercenary (fidelity can easily change over time) writers, but still positive news:

5 Growth Stocks Well Positioned to Quadruple Over the Next Decade
"CEO John Chen has rebooted BlackBerry as a software company after years of struggling with consumer devices. BlackBerry now has a very promising growth runway and the potential to make a major impact in the autonomous driving space over the next few years.
BlackBerry is a completely different business and is one of the best turnaround candidates on the TSX. Even the infamous short-seller Andrew Left of Citron Research is bullish on BlackBerry and believes that the stock could double in approximately two years.
Another reason to be bullish on BlackBerry is its relentless focus on cybersecurity. We live in a time where high-profile companies are getting hacked on what seems like a regular basis. John Chen believes that BlackBerry and its products would have prevented such a public disaster."

Top 5 Stocks Positioned for Monster Growth in the Next Decade
BlackBerry Ltd. (TSX:BB)(NASDAQ:BBRY) stock has experienced 50% growth in 2017 and 20% since releasing its second-quarter results on September 28. It posted record software and services revenue of $196 million and record gross margin of 76%. The company has continued its transformation and march into software. BlackBerry has established itself as a premier cybersecurity provider, delivering mobile security service to the Canadian and U.S. governments and several other nations. Recent major cyberattacks on private and public entities have upped estimations for industry growth. Global spending on cybersecurity is expected to exceed $1 trillion over the next five years."

BlackBerry patent licensing director says he has left company
    2017-10-13 06:07:05 PM ET (Reuters)

    By Alastair Sharp

TORONTO, Oct 13 (Reuters) - A key attorney executing BlackBerry Ltd's patent licensing strategy has left the company, the second recent departure from the team tasked with making money from the Canadian company's intellectual property.

Victor Schubert, who was a licensing director for BlackBerry, told Reuters in a brief LinkedIn message that he was no longer with the company. He did not say when he left or why.

Monetizing the company's intellectual property is a key part of Chief Executive John Chen's plan for turning around the company whose revenues have declined for six straight years as sales of its once ubiquitous smartphones have tumbled.

Company representatives did not respond to requests for comment on Schubert. Two switchboard operators at the Canadian company said his name was not in a global employee directory.

News of his exit follows the recent departure of Mark Kokes, who lead BlackBerry's overall patent strategy. Kokes last month joined a health technology company.

Schubert joined BlackBerry in March 2015, according to his LinkedIn profile, as the company was embarking on a major push to boost licensing revenue.

BlackBerry is trying to persuade other companies to pay licensing royalties to use its trove of some 40,000 global patents on technology including operating systems, networking infrastructure, acoustics, messaging, automotive subsystems, cybersecurity and wireless communications.

Schubert has created and executed patent-licensing programs for at least four companies, including BlackBerry, dating back to 1992, according to his LinkedIn profile. It lists portfolio mining, patent valuation and negotiating patent sales as areas of expertise.

He was due to represent BlackBerry at a Seattle-area patent conference next month to discuss how operating companies can make money off their intellectual property, according to an agenda posted on the conference we bsite in August. He is no longer listed as a panelist.

BlackBerry disclosed it had secured royalty-bearing deals with Cisco Systems Inc and another company that it did not name soon after Schubert joined. It also filed patent infringement lawsuits during his tenure against Nokia and Avaya Inc that are ongoing.

BlackBerry on Thursday disclosed that it had settled another lawsuit, filed against low-end Android phone manufacturer BLU Products Inc.

Wow, does Chen sleep in a cryogenic bed, he sure doesn't look like he has aged 16 years.

Chen is like Hannibal from the A-Team, and we all love it when a plan comes together.

Did the author of this article miss the last four years? And why is it always "booh booh" when it comes to BBRY fighting for license fees while it is wise business when MSFT at the same time is collecting billions of license fees from Android handsetmakers every year?
