    New Android vulnerability:

'Quadrooter' security flaws said to affect over 900 million Android devices
The flaws, disclosed by security firm Check Point, could open hundreds of millions of Android products with Qualcomm chips to malware.

The recently-announced BlackBerry DTEK50, which the company touts as the "most secure Android smartphone," is also vulnerable to one of the flaws.

Good start to the week... Although, I don't find a source to some of the facts mentioned on DTEK50

    Huge interest

The DTEK50 is the worlds most secure Android smartphone for the price-conscious, and weve had huge interest from our customers., he told Mobile News. The reaction from the reseller channel has been incredible.

Its a genuine game changer for BlackBerry and is going to elevate it firmly into the Android space.

With all the added security, privacy and productivity benefits; its a win-win for the customer.

My first thought was "of course they need to drag BlackBerry down " but then I got thinking that if BlackBerry is promoting security of the device they better be prepared for security flaws that are abundant in Android.

True... But still this doesn't refute blackberry's claim of most secure android as google has not fixed the issue for any android yet.

Well the Blackberry monthly patches will definitely help. That final vulnerability will likely be patched on the DTEK50 soon.

Imagine having a regular Android with no updates!

The number one reason I didn't want an Android. Unfortunately BlackBerry is pushing me in that direction. But at least it's a BlackBerry ....more or less

Are you suggesting that Blackberry should buy the company?

Yeah, I was looking at this. It's at very initial stages. They need funding of only 1m to launch this.

Thought I would post a chart on BlackBerry (BBRY) for the heck of it:

The BBRY Café. [Formerly: I support BBRY and I buy shares!]-bb-aug-8-2016.png

We seem to be setting up for another push here, a pennant formation that looks to resolve to the upside to test the earlier highs this year. The news has been great for BlackBerry and the general market is in the best shape it has been in for this time of year in a very long time. We are at an RSI = 70 today but this is seen as a sign of strength in the stock. It corrected an over-bought situation, just enough to resume its rally. The key here is $ 7.80/shr and we need to close above that level.

On a side note, I was hanging with a business friend of mine the other day and he said his company switched to iPhone and asked if I wanted one of their old inventory, (new) BlackBerry phones. I took the Z30 for the heck of it and that phone is really nice. I'm going to use it as my US phone for a month or two and see how it does.I do like that they have the mini HDMI port as I like to hook up to monitors while on the road. BlackBerry has so many cool phones, this one, I had never looked at before, but it is really nice. For this reason I'll hold off on my purchase of a DTek50 for now.

Let's get back to that BBRY breakout!

It's project on kickstarter site. If they can deliver, doesn't hurt to give it a try.

Nah. As an independent they'd sell millions and receive praise from all. Stick a BlackBerry logo on it and would just receive negative feedback and sell a handful. It's the way the market views BlackBerry right now.

M8, I use my Z30 as a travel phone. It works great for that and when I pick it up I'm always surprised how nice it is.

Not good to see this on the PRIV. Does anyone with a later security patch than VZW have this resolved?
