A down day exasperated by greater perceived risk now that BBRY is pushing into Android.

I happen to think there is going to be a great halo effect in the weeks/months post launch, but I'm waiting for Mr. Market to come to that realization before I add.

Last chance: Samsung plans for Supreme Court appeal in Apple patent case | ZDNet
"The patent system is broken. The questions present issues of enormous importance to patent litigation and the scope of innovation, especially in high-technology industries. And other companies in Silicon Valley are rallying to Samsung's cause: Google, HP and others are reportedly supporting the company's request for an appeal. ...an appeal at the nation's highest court could be beneficial for the industry as a whole: It just might highlight the issues with our relatively broken patent system and force some long overdue change."

World markets are all shot to crap right now. Bad data out of China, uncertainty in the US with unemployment numbers increasing and the FED not being clear about whether they will raise rates or not. Every thing is down Pretty hard right now. BBRY I just being swept like everything else right now being that the dow is down almost 230 points. Believe me it could be worse.

If that's the case, the market is looking at BlackBerry Android in the wrong light (again). Providing an Android phone gives BlackBerry a chance to participate in BYOD programs where companies are using competitor EMM software. Right now BlackBerry is shut out of those companies.

China's smartphone-buying frenzy tailing off, as Samsung's share wanes across the globe | ZDNet
"While smartphone sales continue to rise across the globe, China has recorded its first drop in purchases of the devices. China has reached saturation -- its phone market is essentially driven by replacement, with fewer first-time buyers, Smartphone makers' market shares are also suffering a shakeup: while Samsung remains the biggest player with over 21 percent share, down over four percentage points over the last year. After struggling to generate much momentum in the mobile market since its Nokia acquisition, Microsoft CEO Satyda Nadella earlier this year announced the company would be stepping back from smartphones."

Makes us understand among the many reasons why John Chen is putting more emphasis on software.

Something not quite right about that company - none of their customer examples or case-studies seem to have names on them and on their website they make it look like their devices ship with GAPPS, however when I look at videos of their phone doing first boot, they are AOSP based with no sign of GAPPS.

I certainly wouldn't pick them over BBRY at this point, if it was a question of security.
    True.
The only thing "right" about the company is their Naming...similar to BlackBerry

Android App Supported Jolla Tablet Now Available To Pre-Order
August 20, 2015 - Written By John Anon

There is little doubting that Android is the largest OS around. It is installed on more devices worldwide than any other OS and that does not look to be something that is changing anytime soon. In fact, this is probably why there has been so many rumors of late suggesting that a number of less orthodox Android manufacturers like Nokia and BlackBerry are planning to move over to the operating system. Likewise, new OS options like the Jolla tablet which runs on Sailfish OS will still be able to run Android apps as well as those purpose-built for its own operating system.

The jolla Tablet has been one which has hit the headlines a lot over this year and seemed to do well when it was crowd seeking funds, through its Indiegogo campaign. Well, if you have been following the Jolla Tablet news, then it now looks like it is available to pre-order. That said, the ability to pre-order is somewhat limited as there are only limited quantities available and only to select countries.

For those interested, the Jolla Tablet is available to preorder in two storage variants, 32GB and 64GB. The 32GB version will set you back 267 while the 64GB version is currently priced at 299. As mentioned, this does run on Sailfish OS, but you will be able to run all your Android apps as well. Not to mention, you will be able to continue downloading apps from Android app stores in the future. In terms of the specs, the Jolla Tablet is equipped with 2GB RAM and powered by a 64-bit Quad core Intel processor (clocking at 1.8 GHz). There is a 5-megapixel camera on the back, which is coupled with a 2-megapixel camera on the front. The display on offer measures 7.85-inches and comes with a 2048 x 1536 resolution. In terms of the pre-order country availability, the listing states that anyone from EU, Norway, Switzerland, United States, Canada, Australia, India and Hong Kong can order. At present, shipping times are listed as commencing in October. Click the source link below to find out more or to pre-order a Jolla Tablet.
