Very OT re: how high frequency trading is still alive and well on Wall Street:

Nanex gives a time line of 24,800 shares of Ford offered for sale and a trade to buy 20,000 of those shares. About half the shares offered are canceled within 2 milliseconds and the trader only gets 12,133 of the shares filled.
    Thank you for this!

    Conclusion

All this evidence points to one inescapable conclusion: the order cancellations and trade executions just before, and during the trader's order were not a coincidence.

This is premeditated, programmed theft, plain and simple.

Michael Lewis probably said it best when he told 60 minutes that the stock market is rigged.

    Slowdown Batman !
This deal is nothing more than a commercial/marketing announcement and won't affect individuals, besides the 'cool factor'.
I'm not sure either they will be tight, except that IBM may choose to retain launches of new OS/devices until they get "approved" and apps/services updated accordingly.
Most of IP users won't even ear about it.

Again, besides us (the "well informed") that believe the news is all around ... general media channels are pretty much ignoring the news.
Oracle will promise a roadmap to customers and target end of 2014 and it will be mid 2015 or later before they deliver. They are too big and too slow. This is just a media stunt to give corporate customers/decision makers a feel good pat on the back for either sticking with iOS or planning to move to iOS.

All of these negative comments about Apple and IBM will do nothing to help the plight of Blackberry as that "whistling noise" is the air going by BBRY's ears as it falls even farther.
Hey! That whistling sound is air going through my empty pockets!

So, not quite ready to jump back in then, huh?

    From Zacks:

"Yesterday, beleaguered smartphone developer BlackBerry Ltd. (BBRY - Analyst Report) faced a major hit which hurts it the most. Recently announced business deal between Apple Inc. (AAPL - Analyst Report) and International Business Machines Corp. (IBM - Analyst Report) related to enterprise mobility solutions may spells doom for BlackBerry’s much awaited turnaround.
Consequently, the stock price of the company plummeted nearly 12% yesterday..." ... and then follows the random description of the past.

I'm somehow dissapointed. I miss the term 'struggling' .

It's interesting, it seems this in fact the common perception of the deal.

Don't believe the hype. Correction was expected, this Friday AH will be interesting (options end).
Let's see where we go on Monday.
Out of the office today, have a great weekend gang !

Not! And even though the memebrs of this forum made fun of me for getting in and then right back out, they know I made the right choice. I am VERY LUCKY and save myself $7-8K!

Not too sure if I will get back in, even if BBRY goes into the $8 range, I fear it has little reason to be valued any longer. The members here think that the Apple/IBM Enterprise thing is a joke, but I am betting that Chen is not laughing! We shall all see soon enough.

Doing well...lol...an 11% correction following a 110 % run is nothing to worry about.

Investment math is kind of interesting - a 100 percent run is completely negated by a 50% correction.

I look forward to a 110% run after a 11% correction. $20 is my target and I have no idea when it'll get there but I have no doubt it will.
