I contacted IR at bbry. This is the fact. Bbry owns up to 50% of Nanthealth. I'm assuming 10% for now.
Not sure I get this, kfh... Care to elaborate? Thanks.

You and me both. You would think that news of lower delinquency rates would help my financial stocks but nooooo. thankfully bbry comprises over half of my portfolio.

easy answer. True. with the continued roll out of new product lines and the renewed intrest in the security of blackberry's enterprise offerings, again thank you android and iphone, thecompany will continue to regain profitability. the real tell will be the next er in sept.

A positive headline from Forbes. FWIW, naturally:

Resurgent BlackBerry Leaps On New Health Care Push - Forbes

After years of bad news for BlackBerry, things are finally looking up for the Canadian phone maker.

Better than expected earnings results kicked off a month-long rally for BlackBerry, which is now up more than 45% from early June. The latest spike came on Monday morning, as BlackBerry shares surged about 6% on news from halfway around the world.

A report from the Economic Times in Bangalore revealed BlackBerry’s latest product isn’t a smartphone — it’s a health care services platform. BlackBerry, having bought a minority stake in health tech firm NantHealth in April, will work with the company to launch a platform to connect medical devices at Indian hospitals.

The new push into health care comes as once-dominant BlackBerry has become an afterthought in the global smartphone wars between Samsung and Apple. Moving into health-connected devices (one element of the nascent “Internet of Things” market) offers growth from business clients instead of consumers.

BlackBerry and NantHealth’s new platform is based on the QNX software technology behind BlackBerry’s latest operating systems. QNX already commands a large share of the car infotainment system market, where it powers over 200 models.

Last month, after drastically cutting costs, BlackBerry’s new CEO John Chen actually touted a profit of $23 million ($0.04 per share) due to some accounting adjustments. Sales are still way down from a year ago, at $966 million compared to over $3 billion in the same period in 2013. But the sharp declines have been stemmed for the moment — sales only fell $10 million from the previous quarter.

If I recall Morgan+8 charts he wants us to close above $10.90.

    Fingers crossed!
Does anyone recall the next level after $10.90?

According to the charts, the stock wasn't supposed to go this high...guess it doesn't count if it's in our favour though

from M+8 a few pages back...
"The $ 10.80/shr number is always in US funds as it makes little sense to use the Canadian chart and stock price for TA purposes when the US price leads Canada. The US price is the dominant trading indicator for BlackBerry and so all of my numbers are in US funds. We are still inside the upper channel, it is $ 9.00/shr/US to $ 10.80/shr/US on a closing basis, it doesn't matter if the stock moves a few pennies North/South of those figures, it's still inside the channel. So tomorrow we can look for the stock to try for the third time to break-out of this channel. You would want to see it clear $ 10.90, close above that and hopefully hit some stops that confirm the breakout has taken place. Closing a few pennies above a key number doesn't make it look very convincing and quite often that false "breakout" is destroyed the following day. We need a large volume move and a confirmation of the breakout before we can be satisfied that we have moved into a new range of $ 10.80/shr to $ 12.50/shr. The stock looks firm in here, it was a great day

Hey guys, bit OT but still related to the SP

Has anyone done a twitter search on "BlackBerry Z3" lately? Seems to be quite a bit of buzz around the phone. As a matter of fact, the reviews have been overwhelming positive. I guess it's "cooler" than our friends over at BGR said it would be. :P

at the end of the video, it is good that she mentions that Blackberry is gaining customers from Mobil iron. also the analysts are predicting that Mobil iron's loss will grow in the future. LoL. News makers are in funny business.
