Hopefully someone heard this better than me,

Were 65% of the phones sold-in BlackBerry 10?

Or were 65% of those that were sold-through BlackBerry 10?

I think it was 65% REVENUE from BB10 phones.

Guys, it looks like there is a major problem with CrackBerry.com's forum pages. Either I am not allowed to give any more "thanks" or it is another case of a missing button. I am worried because this is similar to the case of the missing BBM camera button that may drive BlackBerry to lose all of its subs and lead to loss of mind share, and ultimately, bankruptcy. It looks like CrackBerry is going down with the sinking ship now too!

Even mods only get 12 a day, so it isn't just you. But thanks for being generous!

I've received criticism from members for handing out likes and Thanks in the forums, but I do it to encourage others to keep up their good work, and for toning things down, sometimes. It is my prerogative, and it seems to work just fine for me.

I think BB handset revenue was 39% of total.
    Of this 39%, 65% were BB10, I think.

Talking about the new phones, one thing still worries me: the channels through which BBRY will sell them.

We may have the best phones in the world, if they are not properly marketed/sold, things won't work out.

We know that the carriers have not done a very good job, to say the least. I therefore hope that BBRY comes up with an improved or original solution (perhaps giving some carriers an exclusivity, making sure their personel is trained, as JC alluded to earlier, BlackBerryShop, etc.).

This Fall, I would hate to have to go to my local Bell/Rogers, etc. for a Classic/Passport and have to deal with incompetent staff trying to sell me the latest Samsung offering.

We've been there. We must handle that part of the equation better.

That's why on z3 it is not a world wide release.
Country specific with distribution lines and advertising fully in control.
During the share holders meeting, JC acknowledged this problem.

This came up in Q&A in the shareholders meeting.

Someone related their stories about visiting stores.

Chen made sure he knew exactly what he was talking about and told him he knew that customers were even being talked away from BlackBerry if they could find one.

So, he didn't give an immediate solution but did make sure that he knew about the issue and it's extent.

Nokia blackmailed, paid millions after Symbian encryption keys stolen

Nokia blackmailed, paid millions after Symbian encryption keys stolen - The Globe and Mail

Finnish telecoms equipment company Nokia paid several million euros to criminals who threatened to reveal the source code for part of an operating system used in its smartphones some six years ago, Finnish TV station MTV said on Tuesday.

MTV said that the blackmailers had acquired the encryption key for a core part of Nokia’s Symbian software and threatened to make it public.

Had it done so anyone could then have written additional code for Symbian including possible malware which would have been indistinguishable from the legitimate part of the software, MTV said.

The police confirmed to Reuters that they were investigating a case of alleged blackmail and that the case was still open. Nokia was not immediately available for comment.

“We are investigating felony blackmail, with Nokia the injured party,” Detective Chief Inspector Tero Haapala said, but declined to give further details.

After the blackmail attempt Nokia contacted the police and agreed to deliver the cash to a parking lot in Tampere, central Finland. The money was picked up but the police lost track of the culprits, MTV said.

In 2007 Nokia’s smartphone market share was about 50 per cent with the Symbian software also used then by other manufacturers.

Nokia later moved to use Microsoft’s Windows software in its smartphones and Microsoft bought Nokia’s entire mobile phone business earlier this year for $7.6-billion.

Thanks for posting the two links:

He mentions that the next two quarters will be a bit flat on revenue and that's probably what slowed the rally today. Everything points towards a strong final quarter this fiscal year so we'll have to wait two more Q's to see those growth numbers. Great day just the same.

The financial guy said in the conference call today that they did not expect the cash on hand to go below 2.5 in fiscal 2015. That got my attention - might mean they believe their could be a step back before going fully forward, perhaps when they start the build out of the 2 new phones.
