    So, the news was what was posted on CrackBerry? Nasdaq hasn't shown anything since 8am, peaked at $9.96 at 6.43am though.

    Press release could be a cya maneuver if a deal is already done. Rumours last week might get the board in trouble if true so form a fake committee and wait a couple of weeks to announce deal.?

    I have to agree. They are setting up the fake "committee", Prem steps down, deal done.

    I wouldn't call it fake just preemptive because if a sale does materialize then an independent committee would be needed to determine if the offer was fair.

    My calls I bought are making me some nice money. I know it was time to load up with all that day and night screaming of $4 by Oct and BlackBerry isn't worth $6. Now those greedy shorts will be fighting each other to buy back .

    8:22 AM BlackBerry going-private offer coming from Fairfax?
    Included in the BlackBerry strategic alternative news is Fairfax Financial's (FRFHF.PK) Prem Watsa resigning from the board to avoid a conflict of interest.

    Leading the special committee will be TPG Capital Senior Partner Timothy Dattels.

    The combination suggests some sort sort of going-private bid by Fairfax, perhaps partnering with the Canadian Pension Plan.

    BBRY is set to resume trading at 8:30 ET.

    Hey gang!

    This, my friends, is precisely why I could never bring myself to sell my measly shares! Even when we were down for the count, always had the feeling that something was going to be announced at any time (whether it be reversal of sales, big name app support DOD, partnership, etc).

    Maybe that was naive, but here we are still on this barf inducing rollercoaster of a ride
