Definitely not the PR team. They are contracted out, not hired, therefore they pay for their own office space and equipment.
Not always the case. Many companies prefer to have their outsourced team on site to expedite communication across cross functional teams -- with the trend being 'open work spaces' even; open work spaces are even becoming more trendy for C-suite execs. Not saying that is the case with the contracted PR team, but definitely a possibility.

    Assuming Prem (51.9M), Lazaridis (29.7M), and ATL 12 (44M) are not loaning their shares out: 524M - 51.9M - 29.7M - 44.2M = 398.2M

    NASDAQ short interest (171.3M) + TSX (~10M) = 181.3M

    Short interest % = 181.3M / 398.2M = 45.5%

So, if ATL 12 took out another 44M shares out of the float. What is the new short interest then?

    Second that.

Jolla admits that Sailfish has a "two or three day" learning curve, but is confident that this solution is better than some rivals; both Pienimki and company CTO Stefano Mosconi were keen to say how "unnatural" the gestures of BlackBerry 10 feel to them.

As as I remember, Yacktman sold 50% of his position back in January.
Yeah, that checks out. He also reduced his position again around May 2: Yacktman Cuts BlackBerry Stake Again on Stock Price - Bloomberg

Maybe the hedge funds gave him a mil to resign and then they can write a fear article that top execs are leaving before Q1 ER....

LOL...no kidding...ya'd think someone could put two and two together wouldn't ya. Man, they go through a painful re-org and cost cutting yet grab Manhattan office space two weeks before ER (must be able to afford it) and now this huge Spanish bank position. Me thinks Prem and our friend TH are setting someone up for a world of hurt

so what about the NSA scandal, has to be bad for phone & internet companies, does Blackberry have an edge here with the higher security or does it even matter?

Shouldn't be....but we all know wall street and the Raj R's or the world.

He probably cut at the high and will jump in after the ER if it's good news....I would hope....more non short covering buyers will make it harder for the shorts to cover.

Still no buyers. I didn't think it would go below 13.71. Let's hope for an afternoon bounce back to .71 or at least .65

My thoughts exactly. Don't think they'd be leasing space in NYC if they weren't making cash.
