Have a look at this chart. It's from someone on StockTwits. I believe there were more than just me here on Friday who were thinking the same. This hasn't been a pretty month and our attempts at rallying have faded again and again.

It supports what I've been saying about a longer deeper fall than seen in March and April. It's too long with no news that hurts us.

Hopefully, after some of the positive articles this weekend we can climb for real. Better yet, maybe we'll get a pre-release announcement.

My thinking for the share price is pretty boring up to the ER, hopefully not sinking too much, and then getting a nice boost at ER. A new base of $16 should be a realistic wish.

Looks like the Highs are getting lower and the lows are getting higher, what will happen when the pennant gets resolved? It can't keep going like this for too much longer, hopefully it breaks to the upside this time, we are due right? Lol

Exactly ,.. Keep expectations as low as possible. Thor said 0 ... Dumb like a fox ? I am sure he want's the shwhorets jumping out of windows more than all of us combined ... His whole company depends on it... But I realize this , just as everyone else here does , this is only the next battle. I am sure this company will survive but the short position at this point is formidable to say the least. But buddy buddy buddy when this thing pops it will be biblical !

ROTFL...I got this colleague who bought the S4 when it first came out. Since then he has had it replaced twice for malfunction issues and just this evening his third S4 screwed up and the touch screen won't work. I wonder how many people have had this problem. That's three phones, each one with serious technical problems.

Sucks for him but glad to hear it happens to others as well and it's not just a BlackBerry thing.

I'm watching NBA Finals in US now. So far there have been car commercials and tech commercials. I've seen Microsoft Surface, Microsoft Tablet and the iPhone. I'd really like to see a good Blackberry commercial before the end of this. BBRY was on a lot of the College March Madness Tournament games. But this is an even bigger audience.
Of course I'm not sure that BBRY's commercials are all that good. But they should get something out there before the end of this game. With the Q10 in the middle of launching in the US, this is a perfect opportunity.

I disagree with that. I don't know of ANY publicly owned company that doesn't give guidance. Why else would anyone invest? Surely not because of individual beliefs. I know I wouldn't.

    Fairfax
    Berkshire Hathaway
    Leucadia

Some of the best capital allocators in the world don't give guidance. Guidance is Wall Street crack. We tend to prefer a business that doesn't give it as it is typically bid up on future events that have not occured.... making the stock expensive.

Well I've also caught two GS4 commercials and one for iRobot. I can't say I'm watching all the ads, but there certainly seems to be a bunch of tech ads. So where is Blackberry?

BBRY gave guidance at the last ER. They do so at every ER. Don't be silly.
That's what I thought. And I thought they said near $0.00 for earnings. They did not provide any advance "earnings warnings" that would be provided if earnings are going to be well above or below expectations. If they do provide a warning it should have happened late last week. It still could occur, but if you hear nothing on Monday or tuesday, there probably won't be any warnings.

Do you think BlackBerry will target the broad consumer audience before their full BB10 device lineup is available ? I'm of the mind that they may target only select audiences until Xmas.

I see in StockTwits that some are still expecting a pre - earnings announcement about a profit. However, I recall someone here saying that we should have heard that by this past Saturday if they were to do so at all.
That was me. Generally, earnings warnings come about 20 days before earnings are reported. So, if it doesn't happen early next week, it won't happen.

Ok let's set this straight. They give guidance at the quarterly report for the next quarter. THEY GIVE NO GUIDANCE INBETWEEN REPORTS, PERIOD.

They announced this over a year ago, formally

BlackBerry does not and will not give a earnings warning or comment on rumours.

Sorry to be Mr. Picky, but the NCAA tournament does twice the viewers and revenue of the NBA playoffs.

Guidance is becoming less and less popular. Fairfax and Berkshire can't give it because they invest in other companies that don't give it, so it wouldn't be accurate or feasible. I think when it can be given it is helpful, but it does require some level of competency and trust by and in the company giving it......

I do't know what their policy is. But if they don't want to get sued, they should report if things are going to be grossly different than expected.

I don't know of such a policy. I don't know of any companies that comment on rumors. But those companies may provide warnings when appropriate. Or might not at risk of shareholder lawsuit. BBRY doesn't provide mid-quarter guidance, just like any other company.

I agree with what you said. I just don't know what your getting at.
Unless they specifically stated that they will never provide earnings warnings, there is no reason to assume they never will.

I'm thinking that with Q10 coming out that they have a complete lineup for the US. But yes, it is better when they have a three or four BB10 devices at a couple of price points available at the store. But that might not be four three or four months and BBRY said it is spending quite a bit on advertising. I just thought that this was a show that was a sweet spot for them. Certainly lots of tech and digital communication companies were getting ads up during the game.

I think Heinz is perfect for this company. I know everyone want's a steve jobs but really who would you rather have Heinz or Basillie? Heinz or Samsung Korean Guy? Heinze or Tim Cook or whoever is at Apple. I think Heinz is very likable AND believeable. I do not believe he has to be the Superstar promoter that everyone wants him to be.

When he talks he sounds positive. He sounds like they are getting alot done. Id rather have someone working hard and coming off as positive, then a liar who can build up a garbage product and company.

I'm not watching the stock much this coming week, as I'm tired of sinking and sinking while people keep saying "we're going up" but in fact we're down real bad. I'll hold off on further comments until after the ER. Just getting tired of trying to keep up a great attitude when we keep sinking lower. Buying opportunity? Go ahead, I'll hold what I have until this starts to move upward.
It's all a matter of perspective. Because someone that was holding the stock since Aug 2012 (when it was around 6$) would be saying that the stock has been going up and up..

I'm just asking the question. There seems to be some discouraging news lately and all this Windows stuff has me increasingly worried. Two ultra positive analysts seem to be more lukewarm now than hot. Shouldn't that be reason to worry?
I think that part of the problem here is again, one of perception.
People here, "not focusing on you CM1" tend to explode their expectations upon good news and get equally discouraged upon the stock price drifting lower on negative opinions. Where the Meadian is more likely the final outcome.
I don't remember any analysts worth listening to that was "Ultra Positive" certainly not Misek. The positive analyists have always painted a picture of future potential. Misek himself feels that the MDM Solution has been the point of focus all along. I don't ever remember him stating a higher number then 3+ million sales in a quarter.
Gus P, from Scotia came out near 2 months ago with a 3+ million sales number for this quarter. He also likes the future potential.
So what's changed? Our perceptions here! Listening to all the bogus and brilliant articles that continue to circle, vying for our attention.
It seems emotions are driving our beliefs here. Not the evidence! A hint for everyone. The bears know this is exactly what happens.

Personally I'm looking for 3.5 minimum to 5 million max BB10 Units, BBOS I don't really care about as less is acyreative to earnings. Sub 3 to 5 million loss. To be expected as the transition is in full swing.

BlackBerry made a profit on 1 million Z10's last quarter, I believe they will beat the street estimates again this quarter and turn a profit higher then. 03

As a poster said earlier. BlackBerry has to earn the trust of the consumer back, it true they do and are in that process now.
