    This is interesting. Good information.

Sales of BlackBerry phones in Indonesia and the Middle East have been successful, and if the business model can be replicated in other emerging markets, the vendor is likely to ship 30-40 million smartphones in 2013, estimated the sources.

I don't think so. I believe they had some silly BlackBerry rumour a while ago.

I'd rather have a false positive rumour increasing the stock price than a false negative rumour decreasing the stock price.

I don't think we have to go that far back to VW. Just look at TSLA. Similar situation to BBRY, large short float.

You could buy puts and then your maximum loss would be limited to your capital. In addition, you wouldn't be responsible for any regular or special dividends as applicable.

Wouldn't it be nice if bbry declared a one-time special dividend!

Without hijacking this thread, that's like playing with fire shorting Netflix. You saw what Icahn did to them. TSLA I'm still on the fence.

A good one-two punch against the shorts would be Thor announcing "Due to the BB10 sales exceeding expectations (sales figures provided), bbry is declaring a one-time special dividend." I can only dream for now!

The article is just about BB10, wonder if the "30-40 million smartphones" at the end also is just BB10, that would be amazing if it is.

Looks like BBRY will have a big start for the day, but I fear that it will all be eaten by the BEARS.

    Timing will be important

We are truly lucky to have Morgan on this board sharing his insight. He said that today would be as if yesterday never happened; and it does appear to be correct 100%. I am really glad that this stock did not go down below $14.06, and linger further. I hope that this is the bottom. The big buy in the morning helps it to bounce nicely to start an upward curve in the stoch. rsi on the daily chart.

Considering that we reached bottom today, and bounced, then the stock should go up to $15.80 - $15.90 range. Maybe by next Thursday? The main pennant has gone so narrow, I think, we have 2 or 3 bounces by the time we reach June 28. I think, we'll reach $15.80 - $15.90 before June 28. The question for some of us would be, whether to stick around until this breaks out of the pennant (if it does) or just sell at the top of the pennant, and buy back in at the bottom of the pennant again. Not to mention, June 28 is a Friday. Would panic sell happen? Or will the market movers push this stock to whatever the next astronomical high is?

Perhaps Morgan could enlighten us on this. This would be the gravy, and we would probably not be concerned about the stock going back into the $14 - $16 range anymore, and sit back to see the stock make money for months to come. ER has to be really good.
    JLagoon!

Thanks for those kinds words, I'm just trying to keep up with all of the great work on this thread! We have a gold mine of information on this site.

As for your work, everything is perfect! We managed to find support going back to March for sure (count 5 times we battled here):

The BBRY Café. [Formerly: I support BBRY and I buy shares]-rim-may-31-2013-chart.jpg

I am very aggressive with my uptrend line and it appears that we have come close to breaking down on 5 occasions, but in every case, we bounce back. Yesterday was no different. When we talk about "bear raids" let's remember the opposite happens too where the bulls go hunting for shorts. Sometimes we need to drop the stock down into TA levels where the shorts pile in thinking it is "their time to shine". Only to buy up the stock and reverse the trend. We are now above the 5-dma which is bullish, heading for the 50-dma and then the centerline of the Bollinger Bands. Once we clear those benchmarks it is time to challenge the pennant downtrend line for a whole new level of trading. Yes we can reach a whole new level where $ 15.00/shr is support and the new range is wider, say, $ 15.00 - $ 19.50/shr.

I would say that we can see the pennant formation completely intact all the way back to February:

The BBRY Café. [Formerly: I support BBRY and I buy shares]-rim-may-31a-2013-chart.jpg

I have no problem continuing to use this chart for our next moves. The gap between these major boundaries is really narrowing here. At some point we will decide which direction is the path of least resistance. I know many here are aware that pennant formations resolve to the upside 75% of the time so be patient gang! The typical rally looks like this, we travel to 52 week highs in many cases, fail on that rally, drop back to a new, higher support level, and than go onto much higher levels in the months ahead. I still see a minimum of $ 25.00/shr this year without the shorts covering. A short covering would place us 40% higher than that. Prem is right, if 20% of the top rumours are true, the stock is worth $ 40.00/shr Analysts are just too low here claiming we have 2 quarters of positive news followed by declining revenue and EPS in Fiscal 2015. Not going to happen, as Misek says, BES10 and Enterprise are going to turn this company into a software play with 15 X multiples to the stock making 2015 a banner year.

As for today, I think a great day would be if we take out the $ 14.54/shr level, hold it and blast to the 50-dma. It doesn't have to clear the 50-dma, just get there and close positive for the day/week! GL

Good read on BYOD and security.

The BYOD Mobile Security Threat Is Real - CIO.com

Two points I can come away after reading the article:

    1. BB10 is best positioned for BYOD because of BB Balance
    2. BBRY is best positioned to deal with BYOD security issues by offering its device management services.

Samsung and Nokia have both been attacking Apple through their commercials. They're trying to show the audience that apple is losing its cool factor. In the commercials they show the older people using iphones:

I think apple is catching onto this and are putting out commercials with young "hipster" kids using their phones:

"Detwiler will say that BlackBerry is ordering more parts because BlackBerry is repairing more phones than it's selling."
