Wow, that's the most news I've seen from BlackBerry in a long time.
Still chugging away, opening revenue streams. Good to see.
Big thanks to you Corbu, for keeping us up-to-date and organised. I'm always amazed at your speed and thoroughness.

Safran and BlackBerry showcase highly flexible cellular connectivity for vehicles at TU-Automotive Detroit 2016
Joint demonstration of MorphoFlex™ remote SIM provisioning on QNX CAR™ Infotainment Platform
Safran Identity & Security and QNX* Software Systems Limited, a subsidiary of BlackBerry Limited, are presenting a joint demonstration of remote SIM provisioning for connected cars at TU-Automotive Detroit, a major event dedicated to automotive technology and innovation. The demonstration showcases how over-the-air provisioning will bring a new level of flexibility to connected vehicles, enabling a single SIM card to support different mobile operator profiles and provide domestic network service around the world.
The joint demonstration of the QNX CAR™ Platform for Infotainment and Safran's GSMA-compliant remote subscription provisioning solution, MorphoFlex™, illustrates the secure delivery of operator credentials for flexible cellular connectivity. For the end customer, the solution can ensure that the vehicle remains fully connected, no matter what country it is driving in, with continuous delivery of infotainment, reliable access to emergency services, and maintenance of vehicle data integrity. For the automaker, the solution can enable SIM management and the flexibility to change the active operator throughout all phases of the vehicle lifecycle, including manufacture, delivery, initial sale, and resale.
One in five vehicles on the road worldwide will have some form of wireless network connection by 2020, amounting to more than 250 million connected vehicles (Gartner). The market for connected cars is a huge growth sector within the Internet of Things. Together, the Safran and QNX offerings can deliver secure cellular connectivity that enables global car manufacturers to address these new commercial opportunities.
"Support for remote SIM provisioning will be essential to the market success of connected vehicle systems. Because these systems typically use embedded SIMs, switching SIM cards to change mobile operators on the fly is not an option, which makes remote provisioning a critical feature. The QNX CAR Platform is designed to offer automotive developers and OEMs flexibility, including choices for user interfaces, app environments, hardware platforms, and smartphone integration standards. Our joint demonstration with Safran illustrates how this flexibility can be extended to cellular integration standards, enabling cars to work with almost any mobile network, reliably and securely."
Grant Courville, Senior Director of Product Management at QNX Software Systems
Yves Portalier, Vice President and General Manager Telecom at Safran Identity & Security, said: "The joint demo of MorphoFlex with the QNX CAR Platform at TU-Automotive this week in Detroit illustrates the delivery of highly secure and flexible cellular connectivity for the automotive industry, and shows how the commercial success of the Internet of Things will be achieved by working together."

CBC feels it is a slow news day. They needed to dig up this old news. They even take the opportunity to show the Priv and state that sales are falling (relevance?).

Seems like Biotechs are back in a downtrend...debating to sell off HALO and get back in at a lower price, ACAD has been amazing though but not in that one

Identical trade with only the amounts being different (probably the same trader) as what I wrote on Tuesday. This time a block of 382,500 shares sold at $7.28 (proceeds of about $2,784,600) and the same trades buying 10,500 option contracts (or equivalent to 1,050,000 shares of stock) for the August 8 strike for $ .27 each or $283,500 cost.
As before this is most likely a replacement of selling some stock and buying the right to buy about 3X the number of shares. Taking some money off the table, in this case about $2,500,000
If BBRY stays below the strike price of $8 by August 19, 2016 (expiration date of normal month option contracts are the third Friday of the month) these options expire worthless. The open interest is now at 16,662 before this trade and thus will increase by 10,500 tonight. Interestingly, the $8 mark is the current area of resistance from the Feb 2013 highs if you look at that long protracted downtrend.
Also here is a article discussing the Trade 2 days ago as well and coming to the same conclusion

SPHS: 5PM EST call. Either just to report the results....or maybe they will announce something strategic. Fingers crossed!
Thanks, Morgan, for the early info on $SPHS. I guess I'm not heading out to do what I'm supposed to anymore. Gotta have beer and listen to the webcast. :dancing::big-hug:
Probably just to discuss the results. Now they are in the drivers seat and can pick and choose their suitors.

I think Celgene will want to pick this up. Else AZ. Let's say 250-300M.
Yes definitely thanks to M8! Let's see where this goes.

SPHS webcast call. Don't quote me but this is what I heard...investigators suggested that for the 9 that didn't respond, the dosing was well under what they now believe is an appropriate dose of (something like 1000 micrograms per g of tumor?), nor was it delivered slowly enough / in the right place, so drug didn't stay where they wanted it to for efficacy. Potential that with these corrections efficacy can be much increased. Crazy stuff.
Yep. Cbc essentially hates all Canadian icons. Except hockey. LoL
