Samsung makes a LOT of consumer products... only natural that they move towards connecting all of it.
Who knows... Chen is expecting HUGE growth in Software and Licensing... maybe this is part of it.

Hahahahahahahahaha Jesus....enough said right there!:cant-watch:
I just stumbled on the #internetofsh*t Twitter feed...quite hilarious actually, and not completely OT (ridicules lack of attention to security)

See this is the irony, the negatives think we go to far to protect the positives and guess what the positives think? ;) ROFL! And you certainly were NOT banned simply for posting a negative opinion! AGAIN I remind.......

Holy crap I missed what has happened in detail the last couple of days but why are people still bringing up stuff that was supposed to have been left in the past. Mods have spoken, they've cleaned up the thread, both sides have been penalized. Enough is enough, stop rehashing old arguments and move on if you cannot stand another persons view just do what I do and put them on ignore. Lets get back to how the thread was, market is in a correction, action in bbry is slow, go out and enjoy time with family and friends except for wasting time here arguing against others OPINIONS you do nothing but hurt the hundreds of people who likes to just read this thread and don't participate regularly.
Have a good day gents  heres to everything calming down
REMEMBER: IGNORE FUNCTION DOES WORK
Hope everything goes alright and you have a speedy recovery! I've been subscribed to your posts for a very long time now, sad to see you go, but definitely agree with why you are. Please let me/us know if you create a BBM Group or something that we can just talk about stocks. That's all I'm interested in and you have some phenomenal insight, I have learned a lot from your posts. So thank you for that.

Understood, but to be fair, the mods are performing due action based on rules, not opinion. I understand this only because back in the day, I was one of the few (as previously posted) that ran a successful Bulletin Board System.
On the other side of the argument, if we use simplified Bolean-style logic {AND}, the name of the thread qualifies two topics, that under certain circumstances, collide with thread rules. 'I support BlackBerry' is a bit nebulous, but covers the feelings of many so-called OT posts here.
'AND buy shares' is the part that slots the thread into the current BBRY area. Dimi stated that "...to be best in the interest of the thread, one should have shares to qualify". I agree with that, and has zero to do with the fact that some here like to counter-post against some of the cheer leading that may naturally occur. I welcome friendly opposition between gentleman with the same goal in mind.
I would still like to see this mega-thread of historical value moved to an area that it can thrive....
I'll shut up about this now./
Morgan, the best for your health. (I know you can't read PMs, excuse me for the public thing)

One could reasonably ask: if not, why did they announce partnership ?
For Knox alone ? - that'll be program enrollment, like Google for work (?) Hardware supply ? - doubtful, given the BlackBerry volume it deserves a 'partnership' sticker (?)
Hum... still scratching my head...
"Way beyond that" said JC...

I have no doubt that Samsung will avail itself of any assistance from BB or anywhere else in its IoT plans. Samsung wants to leverage Tizen to do that as it gives Samsung control of its own platform. Because of this, I don't see this increasing recurring revenue that would affect stock price.
In that context (IoT) , "QNX" (neutrino) is not the OS.
While technically incorrect you can compare it to the BIOS you might better know on PCs. Something over which you can run an environment on. Tyzen or Android won't change much for BlackBerry.
Tizen is also POSIX compliant, 'from the Linux familly' (let's stand simple).
To be frank, I'll be even happier with Tizen than Android... ;)

I was going to stay out of this, so this will be my only comment on this matter (hopefully). It's my opinion that anyone who wishes to come into this thread to post negative comments about BlackBerry, or its past, present, or future, should first take the time to read through the ENTIRE thread. It's highly probable that we've discussed your negative points many, many times before. Hence the perception that the thread only wants positive view points. Virtually nothing negative adds anything new to this thread. It's all here, and we discussed it, ad nauseam! The "regulars" and/or the "only pro-BlackBerry view point" proponents are long past it and probably don't care to have to rehash it again, and again, and again, just because someone is pissed at BlackBerry or it's stock performance and think they're bringing something new to this very long-running conversation. Go back and catch up!
Posting personal negativity towards BlackBerry is also likely not adding value to this thread or "helping an investor" in any way, shape or form. Negativity is everywhere and even the "regulars/only pro-BlackBerry view point proponents" post links to them. Regularly.
Otherwise, contrarian view points are welcomed, but please, try to reflect an understanding of the past, both BlackBerry's and this thread's.
Hi Morgan,
Very glad to hear that your latest surgery has gone well and you're on the home stretch with one remaining on the short horizon.
I've been quite busy with work and these past two weeks have been a day and swing trader's dream. It's unfortunate that we've run into the bit of a road block to our thread here but I'm try to catch up with events here and hope we can all get back on track.
Thanks to you and other great contributors, I've been able to make some great investment choices and learned to time my purchases in a much more successful manner. I've now amassed a large block of Halo to match my BlackBerry holdings and I too think that we're locked and loaded with a strong run commencing very soon.
Please stay in touch and do let me/us know if you have a channel or another place to bounce investment ideas on.
Again no reason for Samsung to give a recurring revenue stream away to BB. The Tizen kernel is essentially a Linux kernel so benefits from the 'free' development of Linux and Samsung along with other Tizen partners such as Intel would have to agree to change. Open source Tizen kernel or proprietary Neutrino with fees to BB.
BUT.
They just don't know HOW to make it secure.
And so to say, they don't give, they pay for value or invest to get more consumers. As they pay to MSFT for Android...

If QNX has patents to code that 'must' be used to secure Tizen then yes QNX adoption would be more likely. BB/QNX hasn't said a peep about the SELinux project or to kernels that incorporate that code so unless BB wants to start with Samsung there doesn't seem to be much leverage.
That's all about things we effectively have no idea right now and all we do is speculate. But that's fun, at least !

Agreed.
For the last few years it seems the entire world wanted to p*ss on BlackBerry. This forum, this thread, was a safe harbor for those who wanted better for the company. To be constantly 'on the wrong side' of public opinion was tough and the abuse flowed but here we were.
This may sound a bit melodramatic but the point is, many of us came here because we were tired of the non-stop condemnation and criticism of a product and company that we wanted to see thrive and carry on, and in light of that, our support was biased to the positive as a counterweight to the relentless negatives.
Some of us may be forgiven for being a bit defensive and seeing the 'critical side' of the BBRY investment argument as just a continuation of all we've had to listen to for years.
Here's to better times, cheers.
In terms of QNX, there is more likely a better source of adoption amongst companies that fear domination by Google and Samsung, smaller companies that don't have the resources, expertise, partnership leverage to go their own way. An example would be Maytag for appliances.
Do you REALLY want us to answer that ? You asked publicly so I am answering publicly. This is NOT attacking any particular mod.
To put it in terms that most would understand..... think of an overly policed state where every rule and law is enforced to the letter and no breaks are given. People start rebelling and getting angry at the police and government.
Same goes for an overly controlled thread. People get frustrated and upset and morale turns to crap. People start turning on those modding the threads and the forum itself.
My 2 cents.

Interest in Anti-Eavesdropping Solutions Increasing around the World
Eavesdropping experts stop off in Brazil – Secusmart shows off the range of its globally successful high-security solutions
Dsseldorf/So Paolo, 31 August 2015 – The demand for effective anti-eavesdropping solutions is continuing to grow around the world, according to the IT and security experts at BlackBerry subsidiary, Secusmart, the German specialist for “Made in Germany” secure communication. Government agencies in particular are showing an interest in the high-security solutions from Secusmart in Dsseldorf, attributable to the company's extensive experience with government and government agencies.
“State secrets have always been the prime target of eavesdropping. But any security solution for government and government agencies will only be effective if it can be seamlessly integrated into the existing telecommunications infrastructure. We’ve managed just that with our SecuSUITE for BlackBerry 10 high-security solution”, explains Dr. Hans-Christoph Quelle, Managing Director of Secusmart.
Anti-Eavesdropping Solution in the Field
SecuSUITE for BlackBerry 10 is one of the most successful anti-eavesdropping solutions to date from the eavesdropping experts. The security solution not only encrypts telephone calls, but text messages, e-mails and personal data, such as address books, as well. Besides German government agencies and organisations, governments around the world also use the security solution for their mobile security. SecuSUITE for Government is one of the most versatile solutions to protect governmental phone calls on iOS, Android™ and BlackBerry 10 OS.
it-sa Brasil: Exclusive Insights into the Development of High-Security Solutions
Secusmart will be demonstrating SecuSUITE for BlackBerry 10 and the SecuSUITE for Enterprise solution dedicated for the coporate world at the it-sa Brasil IT security conference on 1-2 September. Secusmart’s managing director, Hans-Christoph Quelle, will be available for exclusive interviews on location the day before the conference starts.
Sure, they are targets for QNX.
But we must remember that Samsung Tizen has been built to escape Google. We should not marry them otherwise than by necessity. Anything can happen... that's why this situation is so exciting.
And if Chen achieves something that big... the latest pages of this thread would be interesting for a comportementalist... Timing, timing: it's all about timing. :D
Good nite all !
