Slightly OT but I think very important and many of us investors here should read this given our investment in BlackBerry... :)
Long read but for many of us an excellent reference guide to investing with great explanations of various terms and the reasons why shorts have an upper hand....
Some extract from the article with link below.
"Illegal naked shorting and stock manipulation are two of Wall Street's deep, dark secrets. These practices have been around for decades and have resulted in trillions of dollars being fleeced from the American public by Wall Street.
.....
The participants subscribe to the theory that it is much easier to make money tearing companies down than making money building them up..."
http://counterfeitingstock.com/CounterfeitingStock.html
"Sources Information used was obtained from public records; the SEC; the Leslie Boni Report to the SEC on shorting; evidence and testimony in court proceedings; conversations with attorneys who are involved in securities litigation; former SEC employees; conversations with management of victim companies; and first hand experience as investors in companies that have suffered short attacks.
Edit:
Just search for lawsuits against DTCC alleging stock counterfeiting and you'll see how much stuff there is.

Well then I guess you've convinced , I should sell my BlackBerry Stock I mean the shorts have the upper hand, being the criminals that they are so what's the point? Just kidding I'm holding on to them until I sell out at 200.

Hey Glen, I hear you man.
I have not stopped investing and I don't think I ever will. The information provided was for general read and I think of interest to many on this thread. There is a lot of talk about shorts and questions pertaining to the whole shorting game which I believe the link I have posted had the best information on this topic yet.
What I took out of this article for myself, being a small investor who still has a day job, kids in college, and a retirement to look forward to is the following:
Protect your capital and your gains as there are bad people without regard for you.
A quote by P. J. O'Rourke
"No drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. If we're looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn't test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power."

Nothing really new, but still...
We are buoyed by uptake in new enterprise offerings: Sunil Lalvani, MD, BlackBerry India | The Financial Express
What has been the response for BES 12 so far in India?
It has been fantastic. We had over 1,000 BES 10 users in India, and 30,000 globally. And in the few weeks since the launch of BES 12 we have seen a rapid uptake to the new server. For companies the one-time cost is hardware and the server license cost is zero. They pay for the number of devices added and the VAS subscriptions.
An interesting discussion from StockTwits regarding upgrades to Classic/Passport. According to these people, GoC finally updating from legacy devices, while Ontario Hydro upgrading Z10s and Z30s already.
