Yeah it's sitting around 16.25 that prediction was pretty good
I came to be learned technical jargon called 'head fake' from you. Thanks!
Yeah you can tell from yesterdays afternoon trading that there are a lot of people who think that the stock isn't worth above 16.25
we still have a long day ahead of us, alot can happen!
Somebody needs to write some good news to take us to the next hump :)
UAE Preorders strong
Z10 Takes BlackBerry Higher - Seeking Alpha
Very true, the real pros tend to trade at the end of the day, not the beginning.
we are ah movin and groovin, upwards! Volume looks pretty good as well.
Does anyone have an estimate of how many shorts are out there now?
I guess I might be a short because I want to seel when it hits over $18.00 so I can invest in my other stocks.
looks like we have a problem breaking area around 16,45..
If I am correct earnings report is today? If so I wonder if earnings come in lower than expected it, will it be blown out of proportion?
spike with AAPL and BBRY heading down.
earnings report is 29th march i believe
No earnings report today. Last earning report was in Dec, next one is in March Research In Motion Limited (BBRY) Earnings Report Date - NASDAQ.com
I wonder what the earnings report will include. Like how many Z10 sales are gonna be factored into it? Almost all markets except the US will have been selling by then
damn...back down again lol
someone dumped around 300K in 2 mins....thank you got more shares at that dip
I wonder how much the stock will jump if warren buffet invested a few billions...hmmm
You can have mine when the price goes over 18.00
News that BlackBerry platform just fell behind Windows Phone platform in the US just dropped.
While no reflection on BB10 or the future of BB... it will make some second think.
wait until the bb Z10 and Q10 hit the US markets! ....
anyone else sees the Head and Shoulders?
Z10 and Q10 hasn't been released in the US, so it's not at all surprising that Windows Phone platform has overtaken BB0S, in which the last flagship BBOS (Bold 9900) released in mid 2011. Good for Windows, but it's not that impressive seeing as how long it took to do so especially given how much stick RIM/BB receives from the American market.
Don't usually reply to my own post but....Just went Green...again.
Look at the massive volume at open. Not sure you're real pros theory holds true here.
I'd like to know how 31% of the float is going to cover their short before the next conference call. This is a long term play, and try not to forget that with whatever price levels your TA tells you to buy and sell at.
Rest assured that momentum is positive, analysts are raising estimates and flipping over to BUY ratings. This thing will melt up all year. Don't concern yourself with minor profit taking over the next couple of weeks.
Following are rough numbers:
60% of the stock is owned through instituations which will be expected to own BBRY come window dressing time. They aren't selling.
10% owned by Prem Watsa
10% owned by Mike and Jim
5% owned by Primecap. They've owned it the entire time, doubt they are selling.
This means there is likely only 15% of the float that is currently residing with liquid sellers. I am one of those and let me tell you I am not selling this for a long time. Short sellers are going to need stock that isn't available if/when they are wrong and you could take part in the squeeze or you could concern yourself with scraping points.
What is the downside right now, 8 billion? Apparently they own one of the best patent portfolios in the world as reported today. I would imagine between that, cash, and brand it is easily worth that. Skype sold for 8 Billion, that should tell you all you need to know. Ask yourself what the upside is. In mobile device management alone there is likely a 20 billion dollar company here by 2016. We can't tell the future, but the asymmetric odds on this trade make for a nice sit tight and get rich doing nothing purchase.
Hey everyone,
Been lurking these forums for about a month as I decided to get into investing. For a rookie it's been quite the ride. I personally am debating still whether to sell at a certain price (ie: $18/20 area) or maintain my position for the long-run. As a first time investor, it's true that this is more of a mental game! Anyways, I hope RIM does well. If infact I do sell and make enough profit to pay for my entire Japan trip (I was actually at that point yesterday morning!) I will go out and buy a BB10 ASAP! :)
As for some of the articles, I don't pay much attention to them myself. I know some are positive and some are negative, but in reality the real deal will be when the sales figure report comes out in March. Curious though, is this a figures report (that only states how many were sold) or earnings (revenue/profit/etc)? One could almost expect BB to present negative earnings due to their development/launch costs and with the level of capital they have applied to their marketing campaign... Just a thought.
