Althought people are scared about the NSA, I think blackberry will start to have a great traction when smartphones start to be a substitute for your ID cards and Credit cards. That's where people will start to feel realy concerned about security, and where Blackberry is going to start to get attention

Last news I recall seeing on it was a few months ago when they released the BlackBerry 10 version for the Indonesian market.

Suspect that the hold up is getting banks/carriers to sign on.

No one wants to give up the margin on it.

Already using an e-wallet of sorts...the Tim Hortons gift card app on my Z10...allows tap and pay via NFC at the credit card terminal. I'm still getting lots of looks of disbelief from the staff and other customers when paying from my phone...this quickly turns to jealousy when I tell them it's only out on BlackBerry right now...
