Thanks, Morgan. I'd catch-up on posts since 10th Jan then.
Hmm.. if BBRY is set to rally, maybe I can buy call options strike 11, I guess for Sep 2014. I only have few hundred dollars right now. So, I'll probably only get 1 lot.

Next month, I should have more. Then I can buy more BBRY options and research (and maybe buy) another of your picks. Though it looks like XOMA, PSDV, HALO, ACAD are already too high so I am not sure what are good entry points for those. I'll look back at posts since 10th Jan and read-up on what you've posted to figure this out.
Sept/2014 $ 11.00 Calls are a bit of a gamble there. I see the stock going to $ 11.00/shr in the first 6 months of this year, after that, I can't say where we will be as there will be so many changes by then. I did post about some less expensive stocks that have great prospects, they are just starting to breakout now. Feel free to ask the board their option before you commit your funds! I'm 100% behind BBRY for this year, they have everything going for them now, they just have to launch critical software and go after blatant lies.

Low volume with minimum selling pressure for BBRY today. It is holding nicely. I will post a chart later today.

I sold PSDV from $3.83, and am looking to reload at the next dip. Thank you, Morgan.
You sold PSDV under $ 4.00 ??? OOPS! You mean you bought it at $ 3.83?? Sorry, I hope you make money every time here, so when I read that .............

I'm still in all of my picks, today HALO is having a killer rally after their latest JPM presentation. I'm hoping there are some upgrades tomorrow, then it's time for me to leave!

As I just BBMed to Ben : "think about it like BIS under sterods"

I will agree that the stock market plays many rolls for the many users. I am simply stating what the market is to ME, today! Long ago, I invested in Blackberry because I loved the hardware and knew a good bit about the company.
That was long ago and I do not buy or sell any stock except to make money or preserve what I invested. Shorting has worked well for me while it may not work well for others.
As far as Snowden, I have mixed feelings about what he did but very glad of the results. What I do not understand is where the outrage is for what the government continues to do and has no intentions to ever stop. I fear we have lost control and they will not be turned back via the election process.
Anyway SuperFly, thanks for still talking to me
Well, it's no mystery I'm not a fan of making money on others' dismise ("shooting the ambulance" is what comes in my mind regarding this). Now, technically, trading on a short period isn't a problem; it's the down trend snowball effect that I dislike. And, surely, my humanist Frenchy touch who cannot forget manpower; it cannot be figures alone.
I'm not sure - besides the opportunity to earn money - there can be any legit justification of death shorting; I for one would militate for a special tax on this type of speculation. Better than Tobin's overall tax: create value from (easier than building) destruction ... but that's a long debate, I believe.

About talking together, I hate closing the doors and as long we can talk civil, we can share. Intelligence is understanding and (not directed specifically at you) "know your ennemies better than your friends" has been teached to me since my early years ... military culture, I believe .
You always learn something from sharing that's the beauty of it

P.S: both my infraction and ignore lists are clean. I mean virgin.

I like what I see. I said I wasn't going to buy more but am really tempted.

More BES10 deals, 10.2.1 looks close to dropping, BBM 2.0 should come soon and QNX looked promising at CES10. I like more of chen's vision. Enterprise, enterprise, enterprise!

    Will consider over the weekend.

There is a turn in the public opinion that we were talking about. All you need is a few opinions to change, most will follow.

Must keep momentum, there is still a big hill to climb. There is also a massive execution risk, many moving parts.

I have a personal dilemma. I have to get a new contract for a new company phone, do I go Q10 coz I love the keyboard just setup my 9900 on the other co.teact, go z30 because I already have 9900. Or should I go sim only and hold out for Q30/Z50?

Everyone seems blown away by the Z30.

    Advice...

The article takes jabs at BlackBerry of course - what else would a 'journalist' do? I think he misses the point though. I doubt BlackBerry announced this deal to let people know they sold 1000 phones. I think it's more about letting people know that companies are signing up for BES10. The phone thing is just an add-on.

We really need news that one of the huge firms in New York or London have chosen BES10...a couple big signings and folks will start signing on for BlackBerry Enterprise services in big numbers. I hope that sales team is hustling.

I personally can live with z30 for next couple of years. I can use/activate 3 different language keyboards which also expands the prediction criteria and it is a pleasures to type on this phone. Once again my messages and emails looking like normal messages not short texted.
I am not sure what else they can add to this phone to make it better? May be better screen and increase battery life? I already like the existing screen and battery life.
The rest are software changes/improvements which are being done almost monthly bases.
I am satisfy with the current CPU and GPU. The sound quality is the best and signal reception is better than any other phone I have used.
My Ipad usage have gone down by lots. Only if I use the phone too much and it needs charging.
So these are my two cents.

    I love this statement...

"“We’re also looking at whether updating the app would add another layer of protection,” he said."

Is he saying that they are "thinking" about fixing and patching the flaw? Why not announce that the app has been updated and the hole has been patched? I'm not for or against Starbucks but that, if I understood it correctly, is some seriously poor effort to protect their customers privacy.

I agree that it would be welcome news. There's a possibility that many companies would prefer that public announcements about their network infrastructures aren't made. It would make business sense for BlackBerry to respect their wishes.

I wonder if it also compress your data like the old legacy devices? I wonder if it uses vpn?
Cause if it does and uses USA ip addresses then I am a customer for this. I can listen to Pandora and other USA only services. I know it worked for me on the 9900.

Shorting doesn't necessarily cost jobs. Sometimes stock pressure forces changes that save a company that would have otherwise just died a slow death. I won't argue it specifically but BBRY might be such an example in the long run. I don't short stocks, but they do make for a more efficient market. JMHO

BlackBerry Announces Completion of Acquisition of Additional U.S. $250 Million Debentures by Fairfax

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan 16, 2014) - BlackBerry Limited (BBRY)(BB.TO), a world leader in mobile communications, today announced the completion of the purchase by Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, through its subsidiaries, of an additional U.S. $250 million principal amount of 6% unsecured subordinated convertible debentures of BlackBerry (the "Debentures"). The additional Debentures were purchased pursuant to the exercise of a previously-announced option that was granted in connection with BlackBerry's private placement of U.S. $1 billion principal amount of Debentures on November 13, 2013.
    Done.

    Hi all:

Here are my updated BBRY charts.

Previously, there were a possibility for a parallel channel, and a pennant. The parallel channel is not valid based on the trading range for the past 3 days. When the SP exited the parallel channel, it formed a higher low of $8.21 - $8.22, and a lower high. The volume is decreasing as well as it approaches the end of the pennant. We still have a possibility for a pennant (bull flag). This extended pennant ends around 1/22/2014. To maintain this pennant, the SP cannot go lower than $8.10. And it is possible for this pennant to become longer than 1/22/2014. Sometimes, a longer one entails a more powerful move up.

I think, when it moves up, it will break the red line on the chart. This red line is the top trading resistance started in mid August 2013.

Another bullish indicator is MA20 is about to cross MA100. And MA50 starts to curve up.
