    I think your right. The street is spinning it that Blackberry essentially just dumped their money losing division, while not dumping it! Foxconn for all intents and purposes takes the burden of the handsets, while BB gets to enjoy the facade that it still makes handsets.

    The street likely the news judging by the premarket pop.

    Wonder how much of this was in place before Chen got there and how much Chen was able to consimate the deal

    It does no good to think like this but imagine where we could be right now had Chen taken over 18 months ago instead of TH.

    Great start to the day, I'm looking forward the Chen making the rounds today and hope the good news continues. Happy Holidays everyone!

    What I like about the deal is that BlackBerry will be making market selected devices. What works in Indonesia might not work in Brazil, so, different phone. Foxconn deal will allow BlackBerry to make market adjustment very quickly.

    Terrible idea. TH was the Operations Officer who was *needed* to oversee the development of BB10. If Chen stepped in back then he wouldn't have a finished product to be positive about.

    Holy smoke! What news! Foxconn and millions of BBM users on the other platforms. And last but not least the cash burn seems to be not that horrible as pictured by BGR. Managing further cost reduction towards 2015. But BB7 is still outselling BB10. I'm still long.

    He said he worked on the Foxcon deal. They guy has a plan and is selling it. He is answering questions frankly and that gives people more confidence when he says positive things. Clear he has laid off the consumer market to Foxcon. Good move. He seems sure of himself and having a vision and starting to execute it. WAY better than the last 10 conf calls.

    Foxconn will probably buy the hardware division and the "Blackberry" trademark. They aren't going to call their phones "Foxconns". The Blackberry name has cache in smartphones.
