Why do people think the take-up of the z30 is good? it's got an very limited release with no marketing spend - it will not be overproduced but I can't see it being a big sale - and that is nothing to do with the device just the reality of no push by carriers/OEMs and limited distribution.

I would be skeptical of any significant volume from Z30 as well for the very reasons you noted.

A low-cost launch, but certainly not a high volume launch.

I dont see this product coming until next year with the z50. Mainly because the none of the bb10 devices could run as fast as a ipad or tablet. So if we see the Z50 with a octa-core then we are talking

I'm looking forward to seeing the Z50. From what I've been reading, this new CEO not only better understands what the consumers want, but also what they expect. Seeing BB is going to continue making devices, I look forward to seeing what they have up their sleeve for the future. I think their future looks rather bright now.

@BlackBerry4Biz: Proud day for #BlackBerry. #BES10 wins 'Best Mobile Management Software' award at this year's @V3_co_uk awards. Thanks guys! #v3awards #EMM

We all know that awards does not equal sales, but good news for a product that we need to succeed nonetheless.

Does he have any interest in consumers? I don't get any sense of that - I think is enterprise all the way and that is frankly the most sensible option.

Well he certainly has his plate full right now with internal business, but based on his past success (Sybase) and his recent address to employees and public, I'm giving him the time he needs and deserves before assuming any negative sentiments. He's one of the best prospects a struggling company could hope for. Let's give him some room and see what he can do.

Many of us have been for BlackBerry concentrating on enterprise.

I think Chen was a smart move by Watsa.

As the smartphone market develops like everything, the margins will be in the specialist areas.

The mass market will become a race to the bottom, price wise, and in my opinion this has already started to happen, look at Nexus 5.

BlackBerry is developing two of these specialisations, one enterprise and two qwerty physical keyboards.
    Onwards.

If they can offer a strong proposition for enterprise they can control that market again. That is OS (balance), Security, MDM solution, phones (battery life , antena, and speakers on z30), messaging, and a suite of apps.

Can you imagine BlackBerry World full of enterprise apps it won't be easy, but I am willing to see what happens between now and end of 2014.

You and me both. Just to entertain some wishful thinking, what would you (and everyone else) think about some sort of cross platform bridge app (xBridge)? The idea would be that it would be an app, engineered by BlackBerry, that would give us full bridge functionality with our BlackBerrys on tablets from other platforms.

You buy a tablet from another company, install "xBridge", and boom, you're sending and receiving emails, texts, and BBMs from the accounts on your phone, through the tablet while you're working or playing. Haven't thought a lot about how to monetize it or what the full value proposition is, just thinking outloud.

I don't think you would need email access because you will most likely have the email registered on the tablet. Texts I'm not sure but for BBM, they can easily solve that by giving multi device BBM access per BBID.

True. But one of the features I liked about Bridge (before native email on the PlayBook) was that it allowed me to access accounts that weren't registered on my tablet. That way I could let my niece play games on my tab without worrying about her getting into my emails/contacts on accident. I just close the bridge connection or turn off BT and, Boom, good to go.

Plus, I think it would be cool to get the "open on PlayBook" function, except on other tablets. I used this a lot with my Storms before, and continue to do so now with my Q10. Sometimes I don't bother though because the Playbook can't keep up with the speed of the Q10 at all.

I'm about to buy the Z10 for only $200! I'm really excited, but I wish I could get a hook up on a Z30 because that's what I truly want. (If anybody knows somebody who's somebody, please PM me or let me know). $200 is too great a deal to ignore.

    UPDATE - Just bought it!

UPDATE2 - Alright, since y'all are truly digging this. I managed to buy a second one which is for my father. We now know what to expect on those quarter reports. haha #BlackBerryMovement

Nice one. Especially this update at the end: "Update: There's already a firewall app in Google Play that protects against the exploit. Thanks, Chipsy4!"

I laughed out loud at that...

If you're running a platform where you have to add a firewall through an app, I think your platform may not be very secure. ;-)
