Now, on other news, BES 10.2 is close to be released. It was expected, but keep in mind this is a VERY big gap, even if listed enhancements seems anecdotal. If I remember correctly, this is the version where we should see unified management for legacy and OS10 devices, for instance.

As we all know what happened to Nokia shares after MS takeover deal. SP doubled, shorts covered, still 1/4 left to cover. Comparing BB, if the takeover is higher than 9 or big long boys believe it's value more than $9 we might see similar results.
Remember Nokia had hit recent weeks low before the surprise. The difference is MS had no choice but too buy Nokia and Nokia did not tell the world that we are desperate and want to sell ASAP.

    Today's news.
Boulben said the company already has 6 million Android and iPhone customers pre-registered for the launch of its BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) service.

He said he expects the BBM to launch on both those platforms "within days," adding that the company is confident that it fixed issues that arose after the initial cross-platform launch of the messaging service last month.

BB should have included in the same letter that download BBMX this weekend or SOON so the message print media cost is not waste and push BBM to more users

Today you have have posted about a Billion new BBM users and the stock price doubling. I hope BBRY does well, but thinking there will be a Billion new BBM users and that a take out offer is coming at a 100% premium to the SP is really dangerous thinking. I would encourage realistic optimism, but I think your expectations are WAY off.

Do you honestly think BBM is even in the same universe as Twitter. Unfortunately, not even close. Again, hoping BBM and BBRY do well but its not even close to Twitter. Comparing the two is just silly.

Twitters IPO price is expected to be 4-5 times the entire current value of ALL of BBRY. I am not saying one isn't going to be overpriced and one might be a bargain but they are not off by a factor of 4 or 5.

Personally I don't see the big deal with Twitter, it's main quality is instant (quick) relay of info...with a limit of 140 characters. BBM does that too, but better. I can see it replacing Skype and Twitter...not sure if it will happen but I can see it .

I guess they have seen the dropoff of enterprise interest increase due to uncertainty and they are trying to stem that - odd the CEO's name isn't on it.

As an established hardware manufacturer with existing customers, BBRY has a significant disadvantage over Twitter or even Snapchat. Startups are in a much better position to grow rapidly.

If BBM is a huge success, it just gives BBRY more overhead and no more revenue. If a startup is a huge success, it just attracts more investors. And no, investors aren't going to give money to BBRY even if BBM is a huge success. That time has passed.

Plenty of us are already using BBM for iOS and Android and I can tell you from personal experience that there's nothing so special bout it that it will go viral much less cause people to run out to buy Blackberrys. Could you point me to the rave reviews from Crackberry users?

Agree. I don't see what the purpose of this message is if it isn't signed by at least one actual person rather than "The Blackberry Team". It seems like something that the PR department would put together.

The enterprise customers they are trying to reach have PR departments also, so I'm guessing they aren't that impressed with the "You can count on us" message from "The Blackberry Team". It's not exactly something you can stand up and say at a meeting "Don't worry, I read an ad in the paper signed by the Blackberry Team that says that we can count on them. I say we take their word for it."

The fact that the CEO didn't sign it would make most people think he's already gone and raises (not "begs" - that's incorrect) the question, "who is the Blackberry Team, right now, anyway?"

    Great.

You know one of the services that they offer is crisis management. Maybe, just maybe they thought this was a good way to address the perception that BlackBerry won't be around.
