    Here's how governments save money:

A guy stopped at a local gas station, and after filling his tank, he paid the bill and bought a soft drink. He stood by his car to drink his cola and watched a couple of men working along the roadside. One man would dig a hole two or three feet deep and then move on.

The other man came along behind him and filled in the hole. While one was digging a new hole, the other was 25 feet behind filling in the hole.

The men worked right past the guy with the soft drink and went on down the road. "I can't stand this," said the man tossing the can into a trash container and headed down the road toward the men. "Hold it, hold it," he said to the men. "Can you tell me what's going on here with all this digging and refilling?"

"Well, we work for the government and we're just doing our job," one of the men said.

"But one of you is digging a hole and the other fills it up. You're not accomplishing anything. Aren't you wasting the taxpayers' money?"

"You don't understand, mister," one of the men said, leaning on his shovel and wiping his brow. "Normally there's three of us: Me, Elmer and Leroy. I dig the hole, Elmer sticks in the tree, and Leroy here puts the dirt back.

You see with the government sequestering, they are not buying any more trees so Elmer's job's been cut ...

So now it's just me an' Leroy."

Ever really look at this logo? Perfect analogy, 'cause any good' ol boy with a half an ounce of brains could tell you that gears that arent engaged will get nothing made except a lot of noise.

BlackBerry Ltd (BBRY): This Left-For-Dead Stock Could Jump 50%-100% In 12 Months | iStockAnalyst.com

    Found this article (highlights)

    The Good News

With a market value of more than $5 billion, along with its $3 billion in cash and no debt, Blackberry has become a prime takeover target.

Analysts at Jeffriess have the takeout price for BlackBerry pegged at $15 per share with a target price of $18.

Sparking this speculation is the fact that BlackBerry's largest shareholder, FairFax Financial CEO Prem Watsa, recently resigned from BlackBerry's board of directors due to a conflict of interest.

This could mean Watsa has plans to take the company private. He has been exploring options with private equity firms to facilitate the buyout. BlackBerry has formed a committee to explore a potential sale. This news sent shares surging more than 10%. Shares have rallied since August 1 on the buyout possibilities prior to hitting resistance in the $12 range. The share price has since dropped back to $10 prior to bouncing off of this support level.

Most interestingly, is Timothy Dattels, who chairs the committee to explore options for the company. Dattels is also a senior partner at TPG Capital, which is a $57 billion private investment firm.

In addition, a possible bidding war could break out with the value of BlackBerry's patent portfolio and enterprise assets, potentially pushing shares above $20.

8/23/2013; 11 million in volume; closed at $10.34. 83 million in volume for this week, which is low. Here's how the weekly volume trend looks:

The BBRY Café. [Formerly: I support BBRY and I buy shares!]-screen-shot-2013-08-23-10.14.24-pm.png

    Bullish interpretation:
    - The SP created higher high and higher low, and the action today confirmed the inverted hammer from yesterday as a reversal.
    - Considering today is Friday with option expiration, the market could have dropped this stock easily, because it was so close to the uptrend line. Instead, the SP curves upward along it, as you can see on the 30 minute charts.
    - Not oversold on the 30 minute, daily, and weekly. Weekly is still bullish; all indicators are pointing up from the low range; and MACD just crossed the 20 mark (buy signal).

    Bearish interpretation:
    - Low volume reversal confirmation.
    - No new news about buy out, partnership, upgrade, etc.

    --

Monday is going to be another trading day with quite a suspense, because the bottom half of the trading range of today will be gone based on the uptrend line. The support range will be $10.27 - $10.36. Let's see this go above $10.51, and then above MA50 ($10.56 at the moment). It is not so far away.

While there is some of that going on, and some are ramping up the trash, overall, it is still CB. There are other things going on, too, that are being addressed, and expect to see some slightly different site action in a couple of days. As my grandma used to say, there are people with one thumb in their mouth, the other inserted where the sun don't shine, just waiting to be told when to switch.

Who are these people ? Honestly ? I've always been a pretty trusting, maybe a little nieve person; but I don't understand who they actually are. Are they unemployed, mentally challenged, children, drug addled, incarcerated convicts with nothing to do? When I walk down the street how do I recognize them?

Sorry, I just don't know enough about the world I guess. ..

Basically, they are what they are. People have different spots in the whole, and some just don't like it that others are different or just having fun. I've met the gamut in real life, and sometimes, ya just gotta shake your head.

But I will tell you, without a doubt, some of the folks here have become some of my closest friends outside the forums, as well. Some are living a made-up persona. But I consider myself fortunate. I'm the same guy on the page I am off of it.

Friday night, hope everyone are having a great weekend. Good week for BBRY, slowly while we wait for the piece of the puzzle.

I have an inquiry as I'm brainstorming on some new ventures, and without going into details as I'm gathering thoughts and trying to piece the different puzzles together. So here's the questions and like to see what everyone would do with the resources.

"If your were given an certain amount of human resources, where English is not their primary language but with common goals of working permit to work one year in Canada. What type of services would you utilize them to provide?" I'm scratching my head and losing hairs over it, so any thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

But looking at it as a whole. The BlackBerry product has improved by a large degree.
At the same time it's near impossible to come here and enjoy the improvements with other users.
The site has taken on a life outside of what it was intended. the other Mobile Nations sites don't seem to have simalar issues.

You are only looking at one vector (the improvements in the OS) when there is another vector (the declining health of the company). You dont think BB basically throwing in the towel has anything to do with the negative sentiment?

I think most people realize that if BB gets bought out for patents it will not matter than BB10 has a space station kernel.

No they all have the same issues but that is no different from any other talk forum - every talk community I've ever been a member of talk about a golden age of peace and love that generally never existed. The other difference is (as happened at WebOSnation) as a company starts to go down the toilet, the debates get heated.

Man, 10.2 is simply amazing eh!
LOVE the lock screen notification and the instant toast notification. I get about 50 emails a day. Used to spend a significant amount of office time to dig out, but now no longer a problem with bb10, I clear out 90% by the time I get to my office. Even do some minor document editing on my Z10 now (was impractical on my iPhone).
All the oem productivity Apps are great.
    Love BBM.
BlackBerry Travel is fantastic, I use it a lot.
Web browser is great, even use it for online banking (snap the check with the camera then deposit with browser).
Can't say enough about how awesome this phone is, I mean...even simple things like the calculator is awesome (tap on tip, enter bill total, done - simply awesome! ).

The Z10 hardware is great too. I dropped it from ear-heigt (I am 5'11") and only got a small dent in the corner. The phone still functions and looks great.

Oh yes, on topic about the company.
It would have been great if people started tripping over themselves buying up the new BlackBerry phones out of the gate, but that was unrealistic. New brands and technologies take time to get noticed and caught on with the public. It's been over a decade since BlackBerry introduced the first smartphone and half of world population is still on dumb phones.
Putting aside sells numbers, BlackBerry is doing well and on track for a turn around. They have made the best mobile OS and put it into top-notch hand sets. Now they just need to market (consumer advertising to raise awareness and as OEM provider for various industries) and buy time for it to catch fire. Nothing is certain, but this is exciting times - hang on and enjoy the ride.

so you have some people coming over from say China for a year in Canada and they don't speak English? And then the question is not clear. Is the question: what would you make them do?

Answer: One of the things is they should do is at least try to learn English.

People don't see the big picture, they figure BB has failed. They don't understand that Phase 1 introducing a working BB10 is a success. Phase 2 is commercialization at large scale and that requires a partner. The only thing they see is the current sales are too low, so BB failed. BB has been underestimated over the past couple of years and it continues. We will know more after BB cuts a deal with whomever, to achieve whatever then the public probably will get a better handle on what is going on.

That depends on what skills they possess.
I have some experience with this. At 16, I started a not-for-profit company to provide work for new immigrants (in Canada). An almost universal job that everyone were able to do was farm work. Basically served as a contracting company providing workforce to seasonal industries. I spoke a few different languages, so I just told them what to do and they did just fine.

Seems agricultural related like harvesting or processing would work.
