I bought back in. Prem leaving the board is a reassuring move as he might want to snatch this up privately. The shorts will be smelling fear for the next little while and I expect them to jump ship in the near time. I think its safe to see a revisit to $13-$14.

Thanks for the shout-out. I'm have some catching-up to do on this thread; I haven't posted recently because I don't feel I have anything concrete enough to glom onto that others haven't already adequately covered.

Regarding the recent SP activity: I have a lot to say, I have little to say; I am introspective, I am extrospective; I feel vindicated, I feel conflicted; I feel empowered, I feel paralyzed. In short, I don't feel I have enough tangible information regarding what's going on behind closed doors at BlackBerry HQ and I therefore don't wish to commit to any particular point of view. I am, however, optimistic that the SP is finally recovering from what I feel was its "unduly punished" post-ER levels. Seeing the SP return to a double-digit value is (as someone earlier pointed out) a big psychological win, at the very least.

I'm waiting to see if this sleeping tiger is really ready to awaken, or if it's just experiencing an unfortunate episode of sleep apnea. The next couple of trading sessions should be very telling.

If most longs stay long and refuse to sell before $20, this would have to go to $20+. So, I guess, depends on how many strong hands do we have.

If we have lot of longs that bought at $16+, then they'd most likely wait untill it's $20 atleast.

And shorts would have to cover and buy. They'd have no option. If company is going private, shorts have to cover. No option.

A buyout is imminent if not for patents, enterprise contracts and current subscriber base alone. I've seen reasonable values of between $15 and $18 bantered on the net. So shorts are walking on very thin ice if this is indeed the buyout price. I expect it to continue to rise for the next few weeks, say $13-$14.
