It's hard to believe that $YELP and $ZILLOW valuations are starting to approach $BBRY. Although, subtract BBRY's cash and they are worth more!!!

BlackBerry might re-try the Porsche Design thing with leaked P'9982
Very good. I had a friend who had the Porsche BB 3-4 years ago. It was a sharp phone as is this one.

I wish this was the A10.

There are people who would pay extra for a very high end phones like this but not $2k here in the USA.

Is the iron really from a collapsed bridge?
My engineering friends told the stories, but I was never sure if that was real or not.
These days, definitely not. They've been stainless steel for a long time.

I did see one of the originals. Stained the finger. Also wore down over time, far more so than the stainless ones. The Dean of Engineering at UW, at the time, was wearing it and in one part it was almost just a thread.

I've read that there were a very few that were made from a piece of iron from the bridge, though most were not. I suspect the story is apocryphal and none were ever from the actual bridge, but it's the story that counts, not the reality. Heck, the whole Iron Ring ceremony was designed by a poet (Rudyard Kipling) so who could think it matters whether the "iron from the bridge that fell down" tale was ever really true? ;-)

Delivered does not equal 'read'. I also have no problems with my wifes ipad or ipod, just my neighbors for some reason, so def not without problems and definitely lacking features and polish imho.

This is the problem! The moment BlackBerry care less about carriers / Channel Partners that are not interested in pushing BlackBerry products and care more about the end users and with companies ready to push their products , their story will change for good.
I witnessed this yesterday, I'll elaborate on it later.

Come to think of it with my neighbor 'delivered' must only mean delivered to the processing center, not the end user.

How much ($$$) will Blackberry make from each user who goes to BBM
Interesting question. It would be easier to give a value to BBRY based on LinkdIn's valuation. This is all fun with numbers but....if LinkdIn with 238 million subs and a mighty 26 cents per share in earnings is worth $26 billion then BBRY, based on BBM alone, with 60 million subs and almost showing a profit should be worth atleast $6.5 billion or $12.50 a share.

Facebook with a billion subs is valued at $91 billion. So it seems every 10 million subs is worth about a billion dollars in share value.

Again, this is all fun with numbers, but, for every 10 million new subs BBRY should be worth an additional $1.75 - $2.00 per share.

(Is their an emoticon for dreaming in technicolor?)

We're going way off topic but here goes.

From the Vancouver Police Museum web site:

Every engineer in Canada wears an iron ring on their pinky finger. There is a legend that says those rings were once made from the iron of Vancouvers fallen bridge. During a secret ceremony called the Ritual of Calling an Engineer, the ring is given as a reminder of the responsibility engineers have. They should build safely, not for monetary gain but for the science and art of their craft.

Sadly, the legend is not entirely true: while both ceremony and ring are real, they are not directly related to the Ironworkers of Vancouver; nor are they related to the iron bridge of Quebec, another persistent myth. Still, the fact that the legend still thrives tells us that some Canadians have kept the memory of our Ironworkers alive.
