IMO It is more than just a normal market activity, no matter how much i try to convince my self. Some one really needs this company out of business. I know that i should not read in to manipulation story. If i start connecting dots from Orr joining samsung to the shorts having more accurate inside sales info than bulls, almost every news is fact twisting unless in the pumping days, from DoD BS to Knox which not even available in the market it proves that it is more than just usual market reaction to the stock price. US carriers BSing about marketing blackberry properly, sales people personally talking people out of buying blackberries? Good point is that despite all of that, blackberry did well. I hope that in next six months, word of mouth will make people realize how good blackberry products are and canada is doing that already cause i am seeing it happening here with my own eyes. It is the most advance mobil os out there. You can delay the truth but you cant kill it. All of this BS also gave me opportunity to accumulate shares at these low prices. So not sure if should get mad or thanks? Blackberry does have large enough cash to see that chapter unfold.07-03-13 09:57 AMLike 8
- Thanks CJ. Good to see you back. I'll be taking a break for a few days as well when my family from Germany arrives tomorrow night. I'll be checking in now and then like you though.cjcampbell and BlackistheBerry like this.07-03-13 10:05 AMLike 2
- I've seen that argument before, about the 2GB of RAM forcing BB to price itself out of the market. Although I'm sure it does have an effect, What is the price difference between 1 and 2 GB? $5, $10, $2. At the bulk prices they are paying, I can't see it being a big deal. Someday Samsung or Apple are gonna build some whopping huge device and it will sell like hotcakes and it will have 4 GB of RAM and the Z10 and Q10 are gonna look like kids toys beside it.
I don't think you'll see the 4GB stuff in Apple any time soon either. They're always on the "economy" side of things, which works out for them since the OS is somewhat restricted. As for Samsung... well, guess who makes the chips (along with Micro and Elpida)? ;-) The pricing issues are a lesser concern for them.Shanerredflag and Bugmapper like this.07-03-13 10:06 AMLike 2 - ppl in this thread got to stop throwing the word "stock manipulation ". you do know its illegal right to manipulate the market right? if you guys are so sure why have no one been arrested? i bet 90percent of the ppl here don't even know what the word means. they're just mad the stock is down and assume someone must be doing something shady. guess what, when a company is doing bad it will go down. ppl dont like investing in bad company.
90percent of ppl here have no idea how the market works. they should just go to casino if you like gambling. at least you dont need to wait 3 month at a time to know how a company is doing. instant result at the casino.07-03-13 10:07 AMLike 0 - ppl in this thread got to stop throwing the word "stock manipulation ". you do know its illegal right to manipulate the market right? if you guys are so sure why have no one been arrested? i bet 90percent of the ppl here don't even know what the word means. they're just mad the stock is down and assume someone must be doing something shady. guess what, when a company is doing bad it will go down. ppl dont like investing in bad company.

Manipulation and insider trading happens ALL THE TIME. There are a few veterans here who have probably witnessed this. Not defending those who lost on investments or trying to play the blame game, but in the world of business, rules sometimes are broken.

Then of course there are the many SAC Capital traders that go to jail almost every month now. They are getting group discounts on everything in prison, soap, mouth wash, cigarettes etc.. Really.07-03-13 10:26 AMLike 6

- You could have fooled me with your response. I personally don't think you work for a Hedge Fund, but that's based on your comments. Do some research then, look at what has happened to Biovail Corp., Fairfax Fin. and many others. Look at their lawsuits, wins and how SAC Capital spends billions now defending themselves while heading for the pen. Then, look up Private Hedge Funds, come back to the board and explain to us how all of this ties into BlackBerry. I'm not going to do your work for you. Class dismissed!07-03-13 10:46 AMLike 27

Since now that you have clarified that you were talking about BBRY specifically and mentioned that you know what goes on behind the scene, would please let us know precisely how BBRY dropped the way it did?07-03-13 10:52 AMLike 4 - Forget the wider market for a minute, what is the most parsimonious explanation for what is happening? That there is widespread gaming or bbry is a mediocre company with performance issues and an increasing perception that it's management is not the right team to take it where it needs to be?07-03-13 10:54 AMLike 0
