WOW. I just tried to sell those July calls for October calls. We are talking substantial amount of money. Substantial. That means huge.

They sold the calls, but the October buy sat in their queue for over 5 minutes and didn't get executed. WTF. I had the optiosn specialist on the line to ensure there would be no problems. So I have NO calls currently and all that money in cash.

I am going to blow my top! are you kidding? if this squeezes tomorrow in the PM? OMFG.
That sucks dude. You need a new broker.

To me, this looks like a good cup and handle formation. It is good for a break out as the next step.

I mean, how bad could the ER be? Seriously?
As much as I'm loving TA and really like the bullish formation, tomorrow, the news will trump whatever the charts tell us.

    I am steaming!

Apparently they need someone to approve the order and no one looked at it in time? I am asking to talk to someone who can fix this mess. I did the order online with support on the phone to make sure things would go smooth. Important ****e here!

I made sure I asked this guy money will be available, orders will go through. Market price so no limit issues. It was for over 100 contracts and he was only authorized to approve 50. Needed another guy to approve and they didn't get to it until 4:01 or something.

I think it depends on their accounting recognition - the expenses should be matched to the period in which they generate revenue. From my understanding, revenue is recognized by BBRY once it is shipped to carriers. For that reason, even if they buy up a huge lot of inventory to drive up costs, those expenses are not matched to revenues made in this period unless they were actually sold to carriers.

Good thing to point out though is to look at their inventory levels, are they stocking up to prepare for next Q's? This can be interpreted as either low sales volume or highly anticipated demand. We'll need to look at a mixture of indicators to find out the answer to that one.

Others hopefully can weigh in to correct me if my assumptions on the accounting are wrong.

    Cheers!
    @richc3 and @Compaqee ,

Compaqee is correct. You can try to get a read on the inventory in progress by looking at their CFO, but their net income would NOT be reduced by investing in inventory or additional production. They only recognize expenses for inventory (and the revenue) once the product is shipped to a carrier (or written off eg playbook). So even that 1mm they "sold" to a single carrier, likely all won't fall into Q1, unless of course they shipped all 1mm this quarter (doubtful).

So for example, if BBRY made $100, and then re-invested all $100 in making more products, their earnings for that quarter would still be $100 less tax, not $0. What you are referring to is "cash based" accounting, BBRY (and every other public co) uses "accrual based" accounting.

For those enquiring about the status of the DoD MDM Implementation Plan, we are still in the middle of the procedures. Reminder from the initial memorandum that went out from DISA:

    3. Procedures:
3.1 Components must register their CMD activities at the following web address trttps:itintetsnar by May 15,2013.
    .
3.2 Components must develop a transition plan from existing CMD activities to Enterprise mobile capability defined by the CMD Implementation Plan. Transition plans will be submitted to the Commercial Mobile Device Working Group (CMDWG) by June 7,2013.

3.3 DoD CIO will present to the Deputy's Management Action Group (DMAG) by June 28, 2013 a cMD consolidation plan that identifies activities to be discontinued or consolidated.

3.4 Components must cease any CMD pilot activities that have not been reported to the DoD CIO and coordinated with the DISA Mobility PMO for integration by October 15, 2013. Approved pilots will be posted on the Commercial Mobile Device Working Group web
    site: https://xxxxxxxxxxxx.aspx.

3.5 New CMD pilots or mobile application development programs must be approved by the DoD CIO before committing any funds. DoD CIO will evaluate pilots within 15 days of registration.

So, we'll hear or read releases as things get on the approval list, but that doesn't mean they'll be utilized or at least to what extent. My IT guys told me we won't know anything for certain for a while yet, unless DISA puts out a progress report, which isn't likely to be leaked or allowed to the general public. Just keeping you all in the loop as I can....

Ha ha ha yeah. I broke my number 1 rule of investing on this one, DON'T GET EMOTIONAL... but I seriously LOVE this setup. Unless the US sales are an unmitigated disaster I think absolute worst downside is a couple points, but upside could be huge.

I don't think you'll find any shorts in this thread.... any more that is. The last one made three attempts before he finally promoted to observer only. Should we actually get a squeeze tomorrow, which although I'd love to see, I'm not so sure it will happen, there would be probably an additional 30 pages added per hour. lol
