- 6.5% yield, 60+ percent of current SP in cash...forward P/E of ~5.5. Wow. Thanks Morgan. This will be a gem!
ACAD:
Debt free, cash on hand, a product that has huge potential, and in the case of ACAD, it had Phase III results that were mind blowing accept for their lower tier trail dosages. When I saw what the 40 mg dose did to the numbers, we bought a pile of the stock. ACAD will likely be a $ 30.00 stock this year. Oh yeah, I look at the management and in the case of ACAD, I personally know one of the Directors.
I continue to look for these gems in the rough. I like IMG.to for the same reason, they pay a dividend, have $ 2.50/shr in cash and mine some good gold. So right now, gold is dropping like a stone, I'll be a buyer under $ 4.00/shr soon. I see gold bottoming out around $ 1180.00/oz..
Its a case of looking for well financed companies in a sector that includes growth. BBRY is such a play, it has a great Brand name and the finances are top notch here. Everything else will fall into place. Hope that helps!06-26-13 12:58 PMLike 3 - ACAD:

IMG is my second biggest holding after BB.
Have been accumulating at dips, and was starting to worry a bit considering what's been happening in the past 5 days, although I know it's related to the drop in the gold price.
But it's very reassuring to hear this from you!06-26-13 12:59 PMLike 4 - Superfly_FRRetired ModeratorInteresting ...
This month saw Apple unveil its long overdue revamp to its mobile platform in iOS 7. Sporting a brand-new look and feel with design elements that change the way users interact with their devices, iOS 7 presents a brand-new set of challenges that developers had yet to encounter while working within Apple's wholly consistent ecosystem.
While the overhaul finally modernizes iOS' admittedly stale look and introduces features that have become indispensable for users on competing mobile platforms, iOS developers have to put in extra man hours and make some difficult choices in order to adapt to Apple's latest platform changes.06-26-13 01:06 PMLike 2 - I see BBRY as a software/security/social play, the BES10, BBM Channels/Balance and BYOD security make this company a growth machine. I assign a much higher P/E ratio to a company that works with GM's of 80% so I can see the stock trading close to $ 30.00 without a short squeeze happening at all. This is all a 12 month projection so I would think we have some time to see where they take their business model here. We are different in our business model and underlying P/E for the success of that model. Good analysis, thanks.
Thanks as always for your feedback, greatly appreciated!Last edited by Compaqee; 06-26-13 at 01:28 PM. Reason: Added in Conservative*

- Thanks Morgan! Not to get too offtopic but how do you find companies like IMG, or ACAD? Are you well versed in those industries already or do you pick an industry that you think could yield high potential for growth and then start to research who is in them? I'm just asking cause the only reason I know Bbry is cause I have been living and breathing it for years - but wouldn't know where to start outside of tech.
I like healthcare because I understand it well, technology is a given here and resources aren't that complicated are they? So I look at what others are promoting and do some research of my own. I like debt free plays with modest share floats and a great idea. As a stats guy, the data from the Phase III trial by ACAD was too good to pass. So when everyone is selling the story, we loaded up ...... and waited, and waited! Today my purchase of ACAD looks good but it didn't always feel this good, hence, BBRY is a tough one to call, and I hope to look back on this one as just another one of those great calls.
My first big trade was a little company called Systems Xcellence Inc, traded SXT-T in 2005. I bought 165,000 shares of that one 7 years earlier ( average $ .33/shr price) and held onto it while I worked long hours for a major corporation. Then, it took off, went to $ 104.00 and split. They are now Catamaran Corp - CCT:

This one was the reason I could retire at such a young age. It is hard to hold a stock for so long and even more difficult to hold it when you have huge gains in it. But this one allowed me to focus on investing. Again, research from the 1,000's of companies out there and learn who you can trust to give you tips and ideas. Hard grunt work gets it done every time! GL06-26-13 01:12 PMLike 24 - Superfly_FRRetired ModeratorCU later gang ! Enjoy the end of the show. Hope we'll stay well above $14.8 for today.
(2-3% a day keeps the speculators away )06-26-13 01:18 PMLike 5 - Those are crazy good numbers but you still have more work to do, like, what is their breakeven on an oz. of gold? And, their location of mines, very important stuff! I do like it though, we'll see. GL06-26-13 01:19 PMLike 3
- Anyone watched build conference keynote?
Really nice improvements to Windows 8. I think Haswell + View Valley Atom + Windows 8.1 will fire the adoption of this platform.
Microsoft will present the new iteration of System Center and Intune, which is direct competition of BES10.06-26-13 01:20 PMLike 0 - Wow, just wow that's awesome!
as warren buffet constantly says, "invest in something you know a lot about". I was in the investment business as an options specialist. I have that real time experience along with several degrees including a background in medicine. So i feel comfortable reviewing many investments today. I'm an engineer by profession so technology is something i use every day. I used to design automated machinery, build them from scratch and use the very latest in technology on all of my inventions. What i'm saying is that i have developed an expertise in several areas that i can now use to review business models.

My analysis (which may not be the best) is leading me to conclude that the shorts will be very nervous at $19 and rapidly running from the bulls at $22. Can you elaborate on your thoughts about the potential squeeze?
For instance, say Heins says, "our new method of calculating subs is to count all customers to the BB platform and services, the new number is now 165,000,000". That number does two things, it is a huge increase which is scary if you are short, and, it cancels the old way things are done and leads to upside insecurity for the shorts. Heins needs to rewrite the rules and apply this type of fight. As for when the shorts will cover, I don't know at all, I have to see the action and the news to understand that portion of the trade. I feel the company can stand on its own with its new business model today and my target as an investment is $ 30.00/12 months.06-26-13 01:31 PMLike 12 - That wasn't me! I told my Dad how much I'm going to buy of this one and he literally crapped his pants. No big deal because he does that a lot lately. But the point is, I'll own a very large block of it when the selling starts to slow. It is a 3-year play for us.06-26-13 01:37 PMLike 10

- Despite what most people think, the casual investor normally has very little to do with how a stock moves.06-26-13 01:41 PMLike 5
- This is what I think the shorts are thinking:
1. Subscribers steadily going down = less people using bb and will eventually hit 0 and fall off the map.
2. BB is not popular in the states. Very few large technological firms do well after determined unpopular in the states. I personally can't even name one right now but that doesn't mean that there aren't any at all.06-26-13 01:48 PMLike 0 -

- Problem is, the casual investor never had the opportunity to buy at 12 so there was nothing to sell.06-26-13 01:52 PMLike 2
