It always bothers me when an investment web site and an author writing about a company can't seem to get the facts correct on the little things....

"and with upcoming second quarter results pending"
Perhaps he should have written, "second quarter since the launch of the Z10" or something along those lines.

It was regarding the "new member" that joined us this morning. lol. After it's last comment, I don't believe I was correct. It was a little telling in my eyes.

I'm sure he was linking his thought process to the fact that we're in the yearly second quarter but I figure if you're going to write articles, proof read or have a second set of eyes go over it. It's a simple mistake but one that shouldn't be made if trying to come across credible.

Wow, another decent & well balanced piece out of BGR... This one outlining the big discrepancies between recent sales estimates. Good summation:

I'll say it again, I will only forgive him if he is sandbagging for the ER. If not and the numbers suck my trust level with Thor will go down further than the SP.

I see where a company would be compelled to release numbers and other information solely on ERs, but when others are driving the SP down to such a state that panic is breaking out causing share holders to sell and go elsewhere, I have a concern. While it may be easy to say "stay long", some folks are not in their 20s-30s and long means making it to dinner. lol

I'm just wondering what the board of directors are saying about all this right now...

I believe what was said what that 50% were new to BlackBerry. The addition of iPhone and Samsung/Android to the mix was a later addition.

Your information isn't correct. Nokia's ASP on Lumias alone was 182 Euros, which is around $240 USD. That does not include any Ashas or S40s.

The Lumia 928 was not released in the US until May, so it isn't relevant to this discussion.

I believe around 50-55% of Nokia Lumia sales in the US was the 920, with the rest being lower end.

Windows Phones could be had for pretty cheap though overall. Amazon had the Lumia 920 for $40 on contract, the 820 for free on contract, and the HTC 8X for $0.01 on contract.

Amazon cuts prices on 8X and Lumia 920 even further - GSMArena.com news

Verizon has the 822 and 8X for free on contract as well. Those phones are towards the lower end for smartphones in the US.
Yes, the 822 is the model I was talking about, which did pretty good in Verizon. T-Mobile had the L810. The Price of those devices (810, 822 and 8X) has eroded the last months but aren't low end. The L822 is $400 without contract in amazon. Lumia 521 is low end, launched last month.

I went to the financial report to confirm. I found 191 euro ASP for what Nokia calls "Smart Devices". This include Lumia and Symbian, but not the Asha Full Touch. I think the new Asha with the new OS announced last month will be included this quarter.

So, thanks for the corrections but It didn't change that the argument in that article is wrong.

Well, all I can say is that the green volume managed to lift the red volume to the support level. It is quite spot on, if you see the daily chart. $13.61. Some of you are probably thinking that this would keep going down, and we are saying that it is going to go up anyway. We can only read the TA. For all we know, someone is drawing this chart.

My projection for tomorrow is that we may attempt $13.40, bounce to close around $13.70, which means that we would be in green with a higher low. Last Friday, $13.65 was projected to be reached tomorrow. It happened earlier today even to $13.30. Is this the last big attempt for the short sellers? Why didn't they push it further in the afternoon? Maybe the shorts keeps a second attempt for tomorrow.

Isn't there supposed to be a Q10 release tomorrow? That might help a bit to close green tomorrow.

You would think that Prem would raise his hand about this very thing when Thor asks "Does anyone else have anything to add as we conclude this board meeting for today?"
