- I have sold 5 BB 10, just for BBM alone (although I paid for most of them).
I have family scattered around the world, BBM allows us to keep in touch for free and it works in my office where there is no cell signal.

- I may sound a little foolish but at times, I go with my gut feeling when i see something good and exciting and BBM Channels I see has nothing but lots of upsides/potentials.
This to me is serious business and will be stiff competition to Google's youtube product. I have been a long time youtube user and have always seeking for alternative and have yet to find one until now. Time will tell but never have I put all my eggs in one basket and investing in BB I know will be one of the best decision I ever made. Never felt more confident about the directions BB is going.
This might seem strange to some of you but this concept and idea alone is enough for me to add more shares to my portfolio because I feel Blackberry is more diversified than ever before.

05-16-13 02:43 AMLike 3 - Congrats Superfly_Fr for starting this thread back in November of 2011 and seeing it grow to the 1000 plus pages of posts, bringing together all sorts of wonderful people to share in our up and downs of...well, shares. I for one find this to be a great place to observe, learn and feel like I'm a part of something special. I shall, actually I am tipping a few pints in your honour. And not that I have much say in this, but I suggest that the first stop on the $100 party tour should be in France at a place of your choosing. Don't worry we'll not just show up to crash at your place, after all, we'll all be stinkin rich!05-16-13 03:42 AMLike 6

I can see where you are coming from when you compare YouTube to BBM channels. BlackBerry may have a more controlled and richer experience. Others are making comparisons to twitter now that BBM will be open to other platforms. And, of course, there are aspects of Facebook and other social applications that BBM will replace for some people.
Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical that they can make BBM as popular as these other social tools, because of the security issues. These other social apps have a bit of "wild west " feel to them which BlackBerry will not be able to tolerate. What will BlackBerry do when the porn industry wants a few thousand channels, or some jihad material is being broadcast? I'm sure they can develop policies like other companies do to deal with this stuff but it seems to go against their image of security.
If BlackBerry can filter out this stuff they may attract more mainstream commercial advertising, or even programming. I still think BBM channels can be quite successful, but I'm skeptical that it will be as popular as other sites.

Man, the time is going to screw me up, I won't be able to watch the stock like a hawk! Ha, maybe that is a good thing. I'll put in a sell order for some shares at 16.0505-16-13 04:52 AMLike 3
- Good morning. From here on in, without any factual numbers to go by, BB is going to be in gridlock, not even any good news here will help imho in light of negative tones. I am looking forward to continuing to day trade BB, long and short. I support trading BB. In the meantime looking forward to a great day, starting with covering my overnight position shorting HOU on the TSX, nice drop in oil overnight, I suspect more to follow in tandem with the price fixing investigation going on in the UK, no doubt in other parts of the world too. I've already stated briefly my thoughts, i'm in the amazed camp! I believe this could be really big. Implementation needs to be solid and they need to get this out to the public as quickly as possible. But the potential is enormous.
I started a thread about my throughts around BBMC. The main reason being, to send out a little red meat to the wolves and let them tear me apart for it. In return keeping me grounded, so not to get to carried away with my belief in the possibilities. Besides a few weak attempts to throw mud, i'm surprised but I don't see a lot of disagreement!
I'll post a link to the thread here, if anyone's interested, the topic is up for debate. I'm interested in hearing both the pros and cons, if anyone has some to share. From this we'll be able to put some meat on the bones of this posible massive investment opportunity.

I'm not sure how many here buy gold or gold stocks but I think that the way this is falling, there are going to be some amazingly low priced gold stocks soon. Some of the lowest cost operations will be the most important ones to focus on.
Sorry to be off topic but gold could briefly fall to $1000 at this pace...man, wouldn't it be great to see $8 silver too...Last edited by Charles Martin1; 05-16-13 at 05:35 AM.

An upgrade?? Nice. We need that.bungaboy and Shanerredflag like this.05-16-13 05:22 AMLike 2 - Not to sure about that report. It's an upgrade of 40 cents? Plus the report states that the shares were trading at 13.01 per share yesterday.
I remember reading an SA article posted here yesterday that stated Gus at Scotia felt the company should sell, maybe to IBM! That's totally false. Gus is a strong bull. Not sure where these guy get their info but there's sure a lot of false data out there.
Posted via CB1005-16-13 05:39 AMLike 0 - I think you're onto something here. Imagine artists like Alicia Keys using their BBM channel offering exclusive content to their fans. That would be a compelling reason to use the technology.
