Sorry, I guess I'm just surprised that they are already prepping production on it.
They may or may not be at this moment. Remember that that remark comes from another speculation of an analyst. Just so happens he's on our side

    R10 I believe.
I wish we had a better image of the R10 to post around so much, because every time I see that red one the only thing that comes to mind is the Etch A Sketch:

Our morning monster climb back to positive territory is here:

The BBRY Café. [Formerly: I support BBRY and I buy shares!]-rim-may-8-2013-chart.jpg

We are deep in the Pennant Formation, about $ .30/shr away from support at the 50-dma and looking to gain from here. Boy do we have a long way to go to get out of this mess. We have the 5-dma which will open around $ 15.20/shr this morning so that's a target, look for resistance above $ 15.00/shr up to $ 15.30/shr. We then need to breakout, again, of the PF and then we can test the recent highs. That's all a tall order but with some major news coming early next week, anything is possible. You can see a downtrend line that formed over the past 6 trading days, we need to break that too, .... what an up hill climb ahead of us! At least the news is getting better here!

    To answer some questions:

I was asked how many shares I own in BBRY, I have only mentioned this to one person on this thread, I believe I own more than anyone else on the board which doesn't mean much, but I do have a large commitment by most peoples standard today. I always smile when someone brags about buying an expensive house or a high-end car and our friends think they are rich, if only they knew how many shares in a company like BBRY, that I own! LOL

The other question I read was about trading in tech stocks during the boom, it was crazy, everything you read about "the name of the company" or its "potential consumer market for it product", and how that would drive the stock, just crazy. Reminds me of the days when gold first hit $ 800, silver at $ 50 and oil climbing every day. Back in my day as an options specialist, we had far more "news" leak out of companies than there is today. The phone was the way to get the message out back then, today, its all electronic, a different animal. I prefer today despite the fact that Hedge Funds exist to crush companies like BBRY.

Finally, BBRY, will not issue a dividend but I could see them buy back some shares as they are allowed to buy back up to 5% of the stock annually. This makes sense and they would clearly hurt the shorts by doing so. Companies buy shares to offset the stock option programs established each year for management.

Do we have enough momentum to get this play back into a positive position before Tuesday (above $ 15.50/shr)? Let's just regain $ 15.00 for a start!

True, but now that I think about it, once the Z10 and Q10 were under production, the R10 and X(?)10 would take much less effort to design and prep. The OS is 95% ready to go from the previous models, and I'm sure much of the hardware is similar as well. I suppose they will see a similar roll-out to the Z and Q, maybe (if we are lucky) both announced at the same time, then rolled out over the summer, but in reverse order to the Z and Q to take advantage of the qwerty demand.

I wish BB would do more to get the Q10 out the door and worry about the R10 after. They need to save up some money for advertising in the USA so that people at least know about the Q10.

It feels like if today is not another BIG down day it changes the look of that chart. Something like if we go up today there's a real change on momentum at play
Was the first thing I saw.

Thank you, as always, for your wisdom M+8. Also, thank you for not bowing to pressure (however slight) to reveal/flaunt your position in BBRY. As a wise man once told me - poor people want to look rich in front of others, and truly wealthy people don't need to. (and "wealthy" doesn't need to be in money alone).

Up almost 25% so far this year, BBRY saw its price target lifted to $14 from $11 at Macquarie ahead of the opening bell. However, the sentiment scales among the brokerage bunch remain bearishly tipped toward Research In Motion Ltd. In fact, only six analysts have deemed the stock worthy of a "buy" or better endorsement, compared to 11 "holds" and 13 "sell" or worse suggestions. Even more telling, the equity's average 12-month price target of $12.45 denotes a discount to Tuesday's closing price of $14.82. This leaves plenty of room for further upgrades and/or price-target hikes, which could push the security higher.

I don't necessarily think the low cost bb10 phones will come to the usa, canada,uk,etc. I think this lower cost phone is for emerging markets. Granted I am probably wrong.

Dual core drops to single core. Less memory on board. Perhaps a OS change to limit the phone to 4 open apps at once.

I'm not adverse to having nice things, but flaunting wealth just is not appealing at all to me when
there's just so many people who are in need.
If you have two coats and your neighbor needs one...you get the idea.
So I do appreciate those with a sizable chunk of change who have an air of humility and show of kindness.
    ok...off my soapbox....carry on. lol

I think they will be part of the N.American arsenal that BBRY is building. The Z10 and Q10 are way too expensive for many teens and people on modest incomes, and BBRY can't afford to be seen as too elitist or they will continue with the "only for businessmen" label they have been given.

I sure do. The lower cost phones are the equivalent of the Curve series. Those have always sold well here. I know plenty of people that can't afford, or choose not to spend as much on, the high end phones. There are millions of people in the "1st" world market that don't make much and would benefit from this price point.

I guess that's the way people are (I mean virtually all human beings in all areas of life), and it's not a bad thing. If you're a new player, you need to show that you are good enough to hang with the old boys (thus flaunting all you have got). A person at that stage could be viewed by the old-boys as amateur and viewed by the less fortunate people as show-off, but I think that we all go through these stages one way or another and we might as well enjoy the journey rather than worrying about what others are thinking...
