Hey, I saw this question a day or two ago and couldn't find it again to respond to you! Sorry about that, I'm not dodging anything or cherry picking questions here. LOL
You have some solid analysis going on here regarding volume. This time around, the Pennant Formation is a long one stretching out over 8 - 12 weeks and that alone guides us to much higher targets. I chose a target of $ 22.50/shr this time around and that target includes a modest amount of short covering which I believe will start happening above the 52 week highs. All action in a stock counts, including short covering which stunted the natural trade in the stock in the first place. The only thing we tend to ignore is the moment moves where the stock drops or gains resistance, only to revert right back into the formation or structure, like the pennant, flag, channel etc.. We take out that day trade and work with what the money is telling us 98% of the time.
Now on this board, I limit my comments to moving averages, RSI, trends and important fundamental dates. If I include too much more, like Bollinger Bands and Weekly charts, I feel I lose my followers. I get a ton of mail on the side asking about specific events and I can't answer all of my mail. So I try to provide enough information so that everyone here gets use to the terminology and the same chart over again. If you see the channel enough times, and hear the description of what it means, eventually you will stop worrying about the trade and like it go. My first rule is to buy/hold when the stock is above the 5-dma and sell/sell calls/look to purchase when the stock is below the 5-dma. If anyone wants to test this simple rule, call up a chart on BBRY, circle all of the times the stocks moves across the 5-dma and confirms the new trend and see how much money you could make.
Now here is the weekly chart on BBRY:
Attachment 156405
When you look at this chart, it is clear that this week, we are exiting the pennant, if I were short I would be very worried about this event. And, as I have said in the pass, you only need to look at this chart on Sunday night to know where your stock is going. When I see a chart like this one, I buy, buy and buy more as it develops a green channel. Not many look at the weekly, and when you couple this with the volume numbers, you see that volume goes up with a rally and after the initial drop, goes down in a bear market. We had plenty of volume movements in the pennant as a fierce battle took place. Now, we have normal buying volumes that are driving the stock price higher, not to be confused with the shorts re-trading stock to create a bearish looking trade. We are enjoying normal volumes and a price that is steadily climbing.
Finally, the Bollinger Bands:
Attachment 156408
When a stock trades to the top of the Bands, see circles, it is over-bought. We are over-bought here and might be ripe for a drop. We are also touching or pushing up against the green channel that I created and trying to re-write Bollinger Band history and my channel all in one day. You have to ask yourself if it is possible to beat both indicators in one day! Not likely, but this is BBRY and that short position is huge. Margin calls aren't going to pause until the technicals catch up to the trade, we could be setting up for a NFLX like chart pattern here. Then you can forget the TA. And so we can't forget how important this time is to BBRY, we should be selling off or profit-taking right this second but we look to be making trading history here. We could push to 52 week highs here and well beyond if shorts are forced to cover. I continue to watch the trading volumes and they are telling me that there is plenty of gas left in this tank and that the shorts aren't even here yet. If we can broaden the green channel out, we would likely be seeing 52 week highs in a couple of days, not weeks. Where we go from there with an RSI of 68 already, is anybody's guess! I'll end it here as this message is getting long! Hope you can make something of this rambling. GLs0be and morganplus8 like this.04-30-13 12:18 PMLike 2 -

- Nah... just more profit taking and stabalization. Super low volume after that spike up. Happened at about 11am already. Could be the same type of movement. Besides... it's hard to call 5% up losing ground lol

I like the way it goes. A little worried with big raises (i.e over 5% a day) as it may generate some side effects and gamble oportunities.
Still looking far away from now and ticking BB to-do and achievements list, one eye on the stock ... but just for the show (therefore, you won't read many numbers here).
We all know how the news (while we don't have facts & figures from BB) impacted the stock these last months. We were literally flooded with speculations, mostly not based on any material facts but rumors. Was it a short conspiracy ? Maybe, but we don't care. They finally failed.
Look at your mailboxes or whatever you use to monitor the mood trend about BBRY. Naysayers now clearly appear as "clowns" and their attempt to blow cold and rain over the stock sounds pathetic to most readers. Because of that, it's noticeable that the number of "bad news alerts" is driven near to zero.
On the other hand, not much more communication than usual from BB, Thorsten is rare and getting better at each appearance. He sharpen his approach, still very prudent and nowhere revealing the actual figures. But when you look at him, his face, his tone, his body language, you can feel that he's confident (understatement).
As a result, the volatility has gone for now (and - again - I hope the raise will be somehow linear and not too bumpy). I personally deduct this by the level of trades, witch seems pretty low, if you refer to the last 6 months.
So what do we have ? A stock that is still (IMHO) trading under its book value (say USD 18 ?) and is quietly going to reach this level. In the meantime, the ASP is driving the EPS back to positive and the CORE program is about to be effective 100%.
What does this means to my (entrepreneurial) eyes ?
RIMM (used in purpose) has been branded toxic due to misleading management/strategic facts.
BBRY has been challenged as "unlikely to succeed", mostly because the former.
As I stated 18 months ago (and repeated so many times), one of the biggest challenge was to change the brand perception, both on the financial side (restructuring, proof of ability to conduct the change, to deliver on time, ...), companies (Safety / MDM - BYOD) and general audience (WOW ? COOL ?).
Now, you tell me : what about market share ?
Well, as Heins stated in the last interview, it's not the way I'll handle the cogitation. It's all about WHERE IS THE MARGIN. In short, do no try to sell with low margins to the widest audience (with crazy promotional/incentive/marketing/distribution costs) but instead, focus where you can sell full price, because your product is aimed to this segment. A "niche" is not by nature small ... it is just "smaller". And once you have 80% of it in your customers list, well ... anything can happen.
Ladies and gents, while I never doubted more than a few hours, I'm now close to 95% sure they will achieve this.
And I must say, repeat, sing, praise, shout : that this is something we'll read in books in a few years. This is OMG-like impressive and I can understand why so many didn't bet a dime on their success.
I'm just glad I and some of us did. We are about to turn dimes into boxes. Guess what : I like that !
Edit : Ow ... just noticed my new status became public. I'm now officially a CB ambassador. Please don't change anything, I'm still the noob here, the fool, the dreamer, the fanatic ... exactly like in OP.04-30-13 12:22 PMLike 20
