    Havent we heard this before?

Faucette argues that sales into inventory in the channel may be the primary factor for the current quarter (fiscal Q1):

Channel Fill Key to May Quarter We believe that the key to May quarter results will be unit ship in of new models, particularly around the timing of the Q10 launch. We believe that the market generally expects roughly 4 million to 4.5 million BB10 units to ship in the May quarter, which would be consistent with our estimated current production levels. We are estimating that BlackBerry will ship in of 2.9 million BB10 devices in the May quarter, with sell-through of about half that number. We are particularly wary of the high days of inventory (DOI) of the Z10 that are on hand in markets like the U.K. and Canada, and that DOI in the United States has reached typical targets so soon after launch.

Crazy last 20 mins. Spike in volume and price and then settled out where it started. Was it the day traders? Volume was robust both up and down. Fascinating stuff. Not sure if the 100 DMA held, I hope it did, the 5 and 50 were violated in a bad, bad way. Morgan ???

UPDATE: BlackBerry has issued a statement denying reports of excessively high return rates. The vendor says Z10 returns to date have been in line with other premium smartphones, and have even been better than expected in some regions.

UPDATE: BlackBerry disagrees. It sent out a statement to all press today saying Z10 returns are normal compared to other smartphones. BlackBerry closed down about 7.7% today.

    Here's the statement:

BlackBerry wishes to respond to media coverage today regarding speculation that there have been abnormally high levels of returns of BlackBerry Z10 devices. This is absolutely false. Our data shows that return rates for BlackBerry Z10 devices both in the U.S. and on a global basis are in line with or better than our expectations and are consistent with return rates for other premium smartphones in the market today

hopefully they don't just 'update' the original article with the inflammatory headline, but replace it with a new one: "Z10 Returns - We have Both Feet In Mouth"
