Hope that wasn't me. I'm not worried about the number of apps. I only have a few that I need and use. Lots of room on my 9930. I just wasn't understanding the different apps for different devices. Seemed to me one app should work on all BB10 devices, but I was shown otherwise.

Oh gosh no, the only thing that I'm pissed with is your constant weather updates lol. And sipping on cocktails overlooking the pool? And your quick dips lol. Oh stop!! I am SO sick of the cold and snow and rain here. If you could package up some of your El Paso heat and send it our way, it'd be much appreciated! I know you don't like it there but Texas is one of my favourite places and I'm soooooo jealous.

Back on point...I share yours and most everyone's thoughts on having and maintaining just a handful or 2 of meaningful apps that are generally daily users. Big difference between this and the irritating "number of apps available" discussions. Today's discussions specific to the Q were interesting and along with Crackberry Adam's OS update and features review, it helped me decide which 10 was for me (I've had time cause my workplace doesn't switch over to BES10 till May). Just smelled that the talk could go sideways and didn't want us giving those POS media vultures any ammunition. I'm sure they scan Crackberry once in awhile and I bet this fantastic thread is one of their main stops.

Now get back to your patio brother. Must have cooled down to.....what.....75 or so by now? Don't answer!!!

Yeah, its a known Sony thing. Only sony devices are fully compatible with each other... they have their own flavour of DLNA or incomplete implementation or something like that.

Didn't know that, I can play just about anything from my z10 to my ps3... Ok, not mkv's, but for those I use my htpc anyway ;-)

It's hard to disagree with anything you're pointing out... But at the same time, the Q10 is likely to appeal to governments and enterprises (and the 'power user')... Where the app gap isn't too important. What's more important is how solid a performer the Q10 is (doesn't freeze, doesn't require battery pulls, and can browse the internet with the best of them...and upwards from there).

In the heavy use environments, i think the QWERTY design just lends itself better than all glass designs... By nature, physical keyboard is a more rugged design. I work in the major appliance business and for clothes washers and dryers, it took us *years* to switch from mechanical timers/knobs to full digital touch pads. There is still a great deal of people that want that tactile feedback. There is still a healthy appetite for knobs and physical keys, imo. This group knows that BB offers the best keyboard experience, bar none... So BB has them locked in, with or without heavy marketing.

I was looking at Google Trends, and the Q10 was getting about 40% of the Z10's search volumes (higher at 40-60% in Western Europe and North American countries) during the launch presentation day.

For consumers, you're looking at general interest in the Q10 probably being about 40-ish% of the Z10. However, as you mentioned, the limited competition in QWERTY phones probably means that the conversion rate from general interest to purchase is likely to be higher than the Z10.

And the government / enterprise factor is likely to not be fully captured by search volumes. One search probably translates into a fraction of a sale for a Z10, while Q10 searches by government / enterprise decision makers may result in hundreds/thousands of units being sold later on.

So the Q10 should sell at least 40% of the Z10, but the higher conversion rates and business/government appeal could push that significantly higher.

She's already talked to the bank but this serves as a reminder for us to double check our security measures today. Don't think it matters what brand of phone or tablet she uses really.

Precisely why I check my accounts quite frequently. Have never had any issues until yesterday actually. When I checked in, I saw a "loan payment" for $200 came out earlier in the week. It was taken care of and discovered that it was another bank that apparently submitted an error in account numbers.

In fact, I'm looking on-line trying to decide what hot rod project I want to get this summer. You can check it out on el paso Craigs list if you doubt me, but classic cars and trucks here are dirt cheap. I want to buy one for under 3000, fix it up and resell it somewhere else for a few grand more. Good way to make extra cash.

VW Karaman Ghia convertible. Awesome lines, affordable and parts are usually interchangeable with the original VW beetle and easy and cheap to find. Very easy to work on too. Not a true hotrod in the traditional sense, and a little lowbrow for some, but the lines are, IMHO, very cool and for the $$ they are great project cars, esp if you can get a rust free start as I suspect you can out there. It is a little addictive but the price/resale/fun ratio beats any other hobby I have found. Don't ask me how I know.

agreed, they should be announcing about 2 or 3 weeks in advance, and if it is to release in april, it needs to happen soon. Any idea if this rollout will be nearly as staggered as the Z10's?

This stock should be trading much higher, hopefully we will see some news this week that causes it to do so. a release schedule for the Q10 that is a little more tight then the Z10 (ie: not a month between canada and US releases) could throw us up to $16 on the same day, followed by some bearish insights about "the Z10's mediocre launch" to wrangle it back into the $15s

I think it hits stores in May. The UK is the first to get the Q10 from what I have heard and that won't be until the end of April.

I'm just waiting for more SP upgrades. The Globe and Mail has stated the following:

Analysts’ ratings: There were nine buys, 15 holds and 21 sells, according to Bloomberg data. Target prices ranged from $5.07 a share as estimated by Berenberg Bank analyst Adnann Ahmad, to $22.35 by Scotia Capital Markets analyst Gus Papageorgiou.

As you can see, it's all over the place. I think until there is a general consensus that BB should be in the $20 range, we won't see a significant bump. Also, I am waiting for more news on their marketing campaigns. They are really pushing themselves this quarter with significant sponsorships, which is important. They need more than Alicia Keys if they want to persuade the US. In terms of Canada, the other day I was watching Sportsnet and Blackberry has their own booth where the anchors talk about the world of sports (I think it's called the Blackberry room, or something like that. Its a desk with a giant Blackberry logo, which is a great marketing tactic).
