Looks like BlackBerry is continuing its marketing push signing a deal with the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

It is also interesting too see the amount BlackBerry paid for the Formula 1 sponsorship.

Formula 1 racing is hugely popular around the world and a good portion of its fans are very affluent. I think it was a smart move even though I have no interest in the sport.

I'm a fan and the exposure worldwide is tremendous. Having your logo on merchandise being sold plus the exposure that the logo gets in every race is great. They've done a great job with the logo placement on the car which is visible at every single moment during the race.

I think all forms of US advertising are probably a good thing. Remember how many people have been complaining about the lack of promotion, and for how long. Don't be an armchair ad exec on this one... just let them run with all these ideas and be happy they're finally playing in the game.

I like how that arena gig is to give them "brand domination". Wall-to-wall BB10 ads should make a nice impact on recognition.

Also remember, the biggest problem in the US is probably that many people think BlackBerry already went under, or left the phone business, or was acquired by Google or some other such garbage. These phones will sell themselves: just get people to realize they exists and try they out, and BB should have no problem making waves in the US. (IMHO)

BlackBerry Z10 sell-through at Verizon similar to AT&T, says Jefferies
Jefferies said its channel checks indicate that sell-through rates of BlackBerry's (BBRY) Z10 phone at Verizon (VZ) are in-line with sell-through rates at AT&T (T). The firm's checks indicate that Verizon retail stores and resellers may have sold around 200K Z10 units since launching, averaging around 10 units point of sale. Jefferies says that while sell-through is moderate as expected, it was surprised by the high level of carrier support and enthusiasm at Verizon. The firm continues to see large upside to May and August quarter consensus estimates and keeps a Buy rating on shares of BlackBerry.
