I'm in the DoD and that story certainly has its flaws. I won't say some departments won't order Apple products but remember this, the DoD is huge and not every department or agency needs "secure" devices. I doubt the Directors for the Child Development Centers and such need such devices if any at all. Certainly there are more agencies and departments that do require strict security and those will NOT be bringing in Apple products. Take these "reports" with a grain of salt. I'll have to show our IT folks that article to give them a good laugh.

Would be interested to know what your IT people have to say.

I'm sure that top brass will end up with BlackBerry phones eventually.

I'll admit that my programming days are long gone, but 30 years of working with many different pc's does give a guy a sense for technology. I've never seen anything as bomb proof as qnx... this bb10 variant is so friggin solid. And there's been no news that I have seen about any real problems. Now that you mentioned it, it is even more amazing that no problems have shown up with all the people trying to pull it apart.

Thanks for backing me up with some real world experience. I just find it amazing that the two companies with TONS of cash and are vying for a part of BB's enterprise market can't find anything. I'm sure they've got the best money can buy to pull it apart and they simply can't. I'm no fanboy but I call a spade a spade and if they can't bring the hurt when BB is down, the best time to pounce, then they simply can't bring it.

Yup, here it is.
Remember what I wrote about brand perception ? Listen carefully, just when Piers grabbed the Z10: in the same sentence : "very cool" and "BlackBerry". This is spontaneous reaction, even if Piers is a fan, so we're effectively talking about "perception".
This is a huge improvement, hope you'll notice that, even more than any "news" about company x,y,z buying or ditching BB or any analyst view.
