Dang, this forum is going to make me out to be a pessimist when I’m usually the positive, happy go lucky individual. I totally agree with Thunder on this one; if you think the shorts are deliberately holding back the SP through manipulation, wait until the release dates and ER. You really think 28 March is the date they give up and concentrate on something else? Unless they get caught and/or the analysts and journalists taking bribes get fined, this will continue. Other than that, the SP “should” be able to take care of itself.

    Edit: Good morning everyone!

It becomes increasingly difficult to lie about how badly the war is going when the enemy has arrived at your doorstep.

i guess we have to separate the company from the stock, BB is exceeding all expectations, so the company is A OK, however the stock is in the vise grip of the nay sayers,
so that throws you for a loop every time

Agree..but its fun when there is a breakout.

I am going to go out on a limb and say I feel we should see a substantial run up tomorrow or Thursday with significant volume coming in to support the continued climb.

    Cheers

Even with their upgrade, they're still writing the company off as a niche 'also-ran' instead of gaining any market traction.

The American launch will be interesting.

Edit: They're also only looking at smartphone sales and service revenue, ignoring any tablet-based enterprise market. Windows XP gets EOL'd next April, by then I'm willing to bet that BBRY will be offering point-of-sale solutions to compete with the current IBM-MS paradigm thats expiring. It's only millions of interfaces.

My feeling. "They" are not ready to go long until "they" have facts in hands. IF the 28th ER is 80% as good as I think it will ...
I'll make another kind of dance !

We believe the mix-shift AWAYfrom BB6 andTO BB7/BB10 lifts BBRY’s GM to 33.0% in Feb from31.6% in Nov ’12
    Um...

See, this is why I have no faith in analyst reports. There has been *no* indication that BB7 devices are significantly better for GMs than BB6 devices. I believe all current devices are BB7, and most of them are pretty low margin as they struggle to retain market share . Why are they lumping BB7/10 together as sales that will improve GMs, when that only applies to BB10?

Thing is, this is what their entire upgrade hinges on...

Am I mistaken? Are high-margin BB7 devices still being sold in developing markets? The 9900 is presumably high(ish) margin, but it's not exactly flying off the shelves.

I am no expert, but I feel that their evaluation is too conservative (zero value on hardware, and no chance of being 3rd platform, etc). Their projection of $22/share appeared to be based on the built-in risk of BB phones not succeeding and did not take into account BB10 footprint in other vertical markets (QNX in cars and machines, Paratek licensing, etc).
