BlackBerry already has NOC in MANY countries - US, Canada, UK etc. Now, all they have agreed to do is open an NOC or point of presence/node in India.
Why is this important? Well, In US/Canada/EU, courts can issue a subpoena if they want to access information from BB's NOC. Indian courts do NOT have jurisdiction in US/Canada/EU so they can not really directly ubponea BB for information . They have to go through Interpol or indirectly through RCMP, FBI etc. and it takes a lot of time.

So, now with a node in India, the NOC in India will fall under Indian courts's jurisdiction so it will speed up the process of obtaining information. This is nothing new as such. Almost all law enforcement agencies are able to make (lawful) request for information (or interception) from BB, Google, Microsoft or any provider for that matter.

BlackBerry and every other company is obliged to comply with lawful request for information/interception. So, nothing is changing in terms of BB security. All that's going to happen with opening of a node in India is that Indian courts are going to be able to directly subponea BB India and request information that is flowing through Indian BB NOC. They could do it even before but the process took months as they had to go through international agencies.

US/Canada/EU traffic is going to continue to flow from NOCs in their own country. And it can (continue) to be intercepted by American/Canadian/European agencies via lawful court order or whatever legal provision is.

So, NO, India is not taking over BB Data Center/NOC or any such thing.
Wow, I'm impressed! From one who worked at getting this info from providers all over the world...couldn't have said it any better. Your explanation should quell any and all concerns about this. It definitely is a "non-issue".

Good news is that Blackberry has 3G TD-SCDMA technology.
Bad news - Z10 is priced at 6000 + yuan
Good news - There are lots of Rich folk in China and Middle class too that want the top tiered phones.
Bad news - No one will buy BB7 models when you can get quite a decent full touch Chinese made android for 1300 Yuan
Overall BB's has almost no market share in China at this time.

Totally agree. BB10 has no way to succeed in China before succeed in other countries. Very few people will pay triple price to buy an unknown brand phone which has limited local apps. I think the only opportunity of BB succeed in China is to partner with Lenovo. But not likely to happen, Lenovo is pretty successful in selling Andriod phone and will release Windows phone soon.

Are you ready skeedaddy? It's time for the Lightning Round. Cramer makes the call on viewer favorites.

BlackBerry (BBRY): If it were to slide down, somewhere between $10 and $11 I'd be a buyer as a spec play, said Cramer. But it closed at $12.81 and I don't think it will go much below $12.

Android security flaw bypasses locks to access home screens
    Tech Radar

    Monday, March 04, 2013 11:05 PM GMT

A security vulnerability was found on Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 that could give anyone access to a user's home screen, including making phone calls.

Mobile enthusiast Terence Eden posted about the security loophole on his personal blog, describing the method that can bypass pattern lock, PIN, passwords, and even face unlock.

To bypass a user's lock screen, someone can press the emergency call button followed by the "in case of emergency" icon on the bottom left of the keypad.

Then by holding the home button for a few seconds, the home screen will flash briefly before returning to the lock screen.

It may be a somewhat small security flaw, since the home screen only flashes for less than a second, but Eden demonstrates that fast fingers can access any quick dial numbers a user may have set up on their home screen.

The method can also be used to launch apps on the user's home screen, though they will only be visible for less than a second before returning to the lock screen with the app running in the background.

Though an inefficient method of hacking, a persistent attacker could access a user's calendar and contacts through this method.

The method was tested on a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. It is unknown if the security flaw is limited to the Galaxy Note 2, Samsung's version of Android, or whether it is a wider issue in Android 4.1.2.

While the threat this security flaw may pose is limited, users can limit the treat even more by moving quick dial widgets and apps containing personal information from their home screen.

Swings during pre-market are much greater than regular hours because of the low volume. This is nothing to worry about. At least, not yet.

They did something like that and it failed because it was stupid. Remember the "Wake Up" campaign? lol. Companies taking shots at each other in campaigns is bad marketing in my opinion. Just make a great product and people will buy it.
