Stephanie Link from Fast Money Half Time show said to sell into strength rambling on about weak sells not having enough concrete evidence of a turn around. I wish should would just stop stating her own opinion and actually do some homework to back up her loud mouth.

No, because HBO doesn't seem to like taking people's money. They'd rather have it be easier for people to pirate their products than get them legitimately.
It's one of the reasons I rail against the idea that Netflix is critical to BB10. It would be nice, but watching bad stuff on a small screen isn't my idea of fun. Personally I find that Netflix has barely enough content to use up the incessant free 30 day trial offers they send. Occasionally I give in (due to my kids harassment), watch and cancel. 6 months later I go back and not much has changed. I did get to watch Breaking Bad last time around. It was worth the free trial hassle....

Funny how the guy who was hated and called one of the worst analysts in the world when he was negative on BBRY is now belated touted and posted about as being 100% accurate, isn't it.....

I'm still not convinced that Misek has got his finger on the mobile pulse. If anything I think his position might be a little too bullish at this point. But I do respect somebody that can publicly admit they were wrong and change their position when situations change, and that's what Misek has done.

Too many analysts simply reiterate their positions based on the past and the present, without putting much critical thought into the future (which is, you know, their job). It's like a weatherman predicting next week's forecast by looking out the window.

For the longs here: BB will not go far ... they need a partner. Brand names are huge in China . Doing what they have always done is not working in China. Sure they will sell some Z10's but not enough.

The original article is completely devoid of content. There's no data about anything, and it basically says "Yea- BlackBerry needs a plan here"

It doesn't appear to me that they are doing what they have always done. I've seen a huge difference in the company. With that being said I'm not at all apposed to them liscencing out to others.

I stopped reading almost all articles that aren't referencing new news or finds. We're not in heaven or he**, but rather a purgatory until solid information comes out. Until then, everything is speculation and personal opinion. Makes for great entertainment, but nothing to rely on. Isn't this fun?

I stopped at Future Shop to pick something up for my son and of coarse I couldn't pass the Z10 without playing with it. The salesperson said "We sold a lot the first week but now we are only selling a few a day." Sounds like initial demand is gone and everyone that was waiting to get one has gotten one. Selling a few a day to me means 3 or 4 units. Is this still enough to be a good thing? I will let someone else do the math. Maybe they are only selling a few a day because that is all they are getting in but that wasn't the first impression I got. It was only an afterthought. I did like the advertising.

In my small group of friends, co-workers, and acquaintances 9 of them have purchased a new phone this month, 8 Z10s and 1 sg3. I know that is only a small group of people and doesn't really paint the big picture but one thing surprised me. The biggest iphone supporter in my group of friends showed up the other day with his new Z10.
Its good to know that BB has been able to convert Samsung users to BB10. Samsung is just a copycat company anyways

Forbes is now dredging up total bull****: Canadian Government Kicks Hole In BlackBerry Security Reputation - Forbes
They are rehashing what was placed in a memo from 2 years ago: Security of BlackBerry PIN-to-PIN Messaging

the PIN number is a device ID and not a personal one. BBM links your personal ID to your device pin for secure transmission of messages. if you lose or sell your phone (and of course change/remove your BBM login info from it), BBM messages will not arrive or will go to your new device. PIN messgaes (much rarer, i dont know anyone whose ever used the method) will go to the retired/sold device and can be viewed by the secondhand buyer.

ps: i loved this little tidbit of over-the-top secrecy,

"Because PINs are associated with the physical device and not a specific user, BlackBerry devices which have been used for PIN messaging, particularly those which have been used by senior GC personnel, should not be recycled, but destroyed instead.

The minimum destruction standard for BlackBerry devices must ensure that the printed circuit board inside the device has been broken into at least two parts. Note that only breaking the screen, keyboard and/or plastic housing is not sufficient to ensure that the BlackBerry devices cannot be recycled, as these components can be replaced."

Actually, I'm glad that senior government officials are required to destroy their BB's when they leave. I don't consider it "over the top" at all.

Hopefully we see a surge over $14! IMO, BB is going to be a strong company, but not a leader. They'd have to really make a move in Asia for that to happen, but that won't occur anytime soon, pulling out of Japan and potentially Korea.

If smoeone really wanted to get at the data, just ensuring the printed circuit board has been broken into two parts is not really sufficient. After all, that just severs the circuitry. You can pull the memory chip and hook it up and read it. The best way to ensure it is completely unrecoverable is to incinerate it. lol
