AFAIK - BBRY hasn't said if they expected to sell 500k, 1M, 1.5M or 2M phones so I have no idea what their internal projections were. I am guessing they will sell about 1M but have no idea.

I listened to the Verizon webcast this morning, and here's the exact quote from the Verizon CFO:

"BlackBerry is coming back with their device here at the end of March, and then they'll launch their next one in the mid summer with the keyboard on it."

Really? THAT is what spawned a big selloff? A generic re-iteration that isn't really far off from what we already knew?

Generally, isn't a buyout favorable for the shareholders? If BB gets bought out wouldn't we get our shares carried over to the other company someway

Gotta love options!! Its the only way I have ever played RIMM (back then). I placed $1,000 bets knowing it would all be gone or I might double my money. The leverage without the margin or short covering risk was perfect for some play money. I made a few bucks, but am still working my day job....
