Wow, just came back from giving a lecture and found two additional pages to this thread and BBRY up over $15/share. I should leave my desk more often...

I dont even want this to go up too much as I still want to pick up more shares before US launch and the next earnings call. I was hoping to hit the $12 since I am going long on the stock. Writing calls for income whilst holding the underlying is my play

Someone put in an order to sell at 14.3109 (likely a computer algorithm based on the 0.09 cents. )

How can you sell at 14.3109 when market price is over $15?
Limit order will sell at highest price possible that is above your limit. So, if you had a limit of $14, it should still have sold at $15+
market order will sell at whatever is market price at that moment which was $15+ too.

Hey, don't worry. If M+8's chart holds true, we'll bounce off the top of the channel and the shorts will come screaming back in. The shares will drop again before the the launch and you can get some more shares. (IF the trend holds, but don't be waiting for $12!)

Yeah, that's the only thing that I can think of... so, someone with deep pockets just made a cool 28K guaranteed, within miliseconds.

Hoping this pushes in a big rally for tomorrow... I bought shares a few weeks ago at 14.82, to see it sing to 13 was testing my patience. Luckily it got back up... The questions I ask myself are:

    1) If it dives again, should I buy some more shares.

    2) If the stock hits 18$ should I sell in hopes of another dip.

Todays trend was quite unexpected, tomorrow it could do the same... or go ****. Who knows.

I normally wouldn't do that, but if it gets anywhere near $18, I will sell and buy back at $14-15 so that the gain pays for the Z10 :P.

But at that moment, a short-squeeze might start! So, you cash out at $18 and the squeeze takes it to $30 next day.
That scary thought has prevented me from selling my stock everytime it gets to $17+!

I'm new at this, but from what I gather... if you are long but willing to take a risk and sell at $18 hoping to re-enter $4-5 below this for a healthy profit, you can always set up a buy stop at $18.75 just in case. This way, you can still ride the wave up if you've mis-judged things (ie. if an unforseen positive news item appears, shorts finally start covering, etc)

Or only play the channel with what share qty you are willing to part with. Isn't this fun? lol!

Todays trend wasn't really unexpected. When a stock leaves its channel there's a good chance it will rebound strong very soon

I'm not sure what you name despairing... the fact we didn't have available cash to buy more? that is, in my case.

For buy-stop, you should have enough funds in account in the first place! My account has no spare cash.
So, I'd generate cash by selling at $18 and then I'd have to manually place a buy stop for $18.5? But there is so much swing in BBRY that it may go down again after $18.5 and I'd have just lost some money.

But that's the risk, isn't it? Money makes money. If it trends down the second you sell, good on ya. If it trends up, you'll lose some cash (or buy back less shares)at relatively minimal margin loss. If you don't have the spare cash, then only play with what you are willing to part with... or hold on tight (long) for the ride and make sure you have some Pepto Bismol in the seat next to you

No despair, we all know BBRY is worth much more then it's current price, the roller coaster is all part of the game, tug of war if you will, lol. 2-3 earnings reports (1/4's) and this rollercoaster might keep a more even keel. I must say though BBRY has been a DT's dream these last few months. Those betting against BBRY will lose when everything is said and done, their time is limited, 4 more weeks or so for USA launch!!
