this week he sold a big position in another company, so he should have cash, he might just be shopping BB shares, who knows....

It's a possibility but unlikely. BlackBerry already makes up a significant chunk of his portfolio and he's not going to want to dump much more money into BlackBerry.
Most investors diversify between different companies and different sectors. I just don't see him raising his share of BlackBerry significantly.

I know this sounds a bit conspiracy theory-esque, but what if no good news is being released by anyone because it suits most parties.

Current investors like Prem Watsa can double up on cheap stock.
All the shorts can try and cover their positions at a lower price and get out without too much damage.
and new players can get in early and ride a nice long wave up.

I am no expert on this, so what i said could be complete and utter BS! It seems possible: they hit the stock for a couple of weeks with bad news, get it low, shorts jump out, longs jump in. then all of sudden good news starts to flow, and they ride an apple-like wave for the next 5 years as bb becomes the next apple?

Prem is all in, he doesn't have to do anything now to show where his support is, he has 52 million shares at an average price in the $ 19.00's and to add more shares won't help out his average much and it will put him over the 10% threshold where he has to declare his intentions to buy the company. That's a lot of paperwork he doesn't need, so he parked himself under the threshold at 9.9% of the company. What he accomplished by holding 9.9% is to assure his investors in Fairfax, BB wouldn't get bought out unless he approved of the price. In Canada, you have to acquire at least 90% of a company in the open market (fair value) in order to force a sale. He nipped that problem by owning 9.9% and the option to buy a couple of more shares and put himself in the drivers seat. If someone bought 85% of the company, they would be investors along side of him until they pay him what he wants for his deciding block. So don't concern yourself with Prem, he is the expert here, we follow!

Luck you, we are about to do some history making today and you are here to witness it. The stock has gone positive now, this is called a key-reversal, it rarely happens and it is happening at huge support at the 50-dma! Watch the stock for the rest of the day, you want it to stay above the 50-dma and set itself up for a huge rally here. What happens is the algos see this bullish pattern and it forces computerize trading, only this time, it is up. Let's see how it plays out! This is why I get up so early.

I knew I wanted to buy the living daylights out of this sell-off. I sold a huge block of a "safe" pharma stock to go into a ton more of BBRY. This morning is one of those times where you need to step up to the plate and made it happen.

I did the same (from Toyota into BlackBerry), though probably not as big as yours.

don't beat yourself over it man, it was unpredictable this morning. You win some you lose some, hopefully this is a start to all of all making some good money for next few weeks

Yeah, I had my finger on the sell button when it hit $13, but I'm a nervous buyer and a nervous seller so I hesitated, then I saw the stock go up, and up, and up. Then a big sigh of relief.

I don't know where the F#%@ this s@%# is going, it's at $14.20 now.

the last time i did that, i cut my losses the day of the launch and sold at $14.20 and ended up with a loss of $1200. but then i watched it hit $12.17 and was glad i sold, then used the money i had to buy back all my shares at $12.63.
so it worked to my advantage that time, as i reclaimed all my shares with $3000 left over.
so i figured, i'd sell today at $13.28 and see where bottom was and buy back in. unfortunately, this time i sold at bottom..haha
