I think if it goes to the low 14s I will be averaging down. Maybe high 13s......I think we have solid support at 13 which is what we touched down at on launch day.

Not sure if this has been mentioned in pages past... but the one thing we should either be as scared as he-- about (or excited as he-- about) is the looming decision by the U.S. Customs and Immigration dep't.

They announced a few months back that they were moving away from their BB's and going with iPhones for their arsenal. Then they announced shortly after that they would postpone their decision pending testing of BB10. If, after this, they continue with the switch... this will have exponentially greater negative affects than the Home Depot dump. It will send the message that, "hey, we kept an open mind about BB10 but at the end of the day, Apple was plenty secure for us going forward"

This is a personal litmus test on how I will play my stocks... fingers crossed that the decision sways in our favour!

I don't think so. Their ICE program as well as their other sensitive applications can't be placed on hold while they wait for Apple to provide a secure program for their operations. They'll stick with Blackberry. here's some positive news regarding this.. RIM Says U.S. Immigration & Customs to Test Drive BB10 After All - Canada Real Time - WSJ

I wonder if this decision would be before or after the USA launch.

This news seems to be lost today about $BBRY, but even with old BB7 phones, BB still holds 3rd place over Windows Phone and it's newer devices.

Don't see this happening. Not saying it can't or won't, but would be very surprised. It's not the same as Home Depot wanting to try something new. This is a government agency with established programs that rely on strict measures to maintain crucial information security. Just my opinion though...

That's a HUGE gamble imo. Bigger gamble than my March 16 $25 calls that I'm trying to get for 2 cents.

Based on the fact that there's no real news out today other than perhaps BB10 not going to have any entry level devices for 2013, I'd say today is just the shorts having some fun.

Stock fluctuations like this one mean very little. It's dropping on the Japan news, but it's really only testing the boundaries of the channel to shake out the loose hands. Because it's bought and sold mostly on hype, it's easier for the bears to shake out the lose hands and trigger drops. A real longterm investor in this stock doesn't have a stop loss set though, so there's no way to trigger those sales automatically. We're near the bottom of the channel though, so don't expect it to drop much further.

Japan is a touchy subject. It's heavily invested in the iOS and Android ecosystems. They're better off rolling out the phones elsewhere, demonstrating their innovations in M2M on a smaller scale, and using the positive feedback from those pioneering systems to convert nations like Japan away from the entrenched platforms.

BBRY is a medium term hold, so you shouldn't even look at the daily noise.

However, maybe new buying opportunity soon. ))
