Wow!. RIMM's price has risen so much that if I dump it now I'll only lose a small fortune.

It takes 3 days for money to transfer to my trading account. So, now, I have to wait 3 more days (means Monday or Tuesday of next week) to buy shares. I am losing out on a good price! Damn. Happy I already bought some when it was $7ish But want to buy some more. So, I'd be kind of happy if there were a temporary correction of sorts.

I've also been in since just below $7, but I'm sitting on some cash that I want to turn into RIM shares. If price goes up, good cause my original investment is strong, if it goes down, also good, as it creates a nice entry point for me.

Though since RIM was at $7 I think I flipped RIM stock like 20 times during each rally. I'm gonna get killed on taxes this year.

I've set a soft-limit for entry at $13 and EOD tomorrow. We'll see what it brings...

I would imagine there's still over 100m shorted shares. I'm ok with this though...the longer they hold out the larger the squeeze will be!

Even with this being just your opinion, I'm interested why you think the stock will grow 1000% in one year. Just saying, you might want to get that crow ready. I think best case scenario with a very successful launch, RIM will see $25 maybe $30 by EOY 2013.

Keep in mind RIM is losing money right now.
    I'll take that question.

How can RIMM take share the price from $13.79 to $137.90? That means the market cap has to go from $7.2 billion to $72 Billion.

I'll talk to market cap though. Let's make one assumption. Cash horde stays at $2B. If RIMM can grow Free Cash flow from the current level of about $2.5 to $7 billion, it will be worth $137.90 per share. Why?

back of napkin fair value math: fair value = cash + 10 * FCF
    plug in my numbers from above $2B + 10 * $7B = $72B

There's your answer, RIMM needs to take FCF to $7 billion from $2.5B. Funny how math works with undervalued stocks. To get a 1000% return, the company needs to grow FCF by just 200%.

A 10 multiple is good for boring good stocks like JNJ that grow about 7% annually. Not hard to imagine for RIMM given the world market. So, let's assume 7% growth and a 10 multiple is good. BB10 needs to bring a big jump in FCF though. The thing is, if BB10 is adopted better than most expect and FCF actually hits $7B in one years time, growth for a few years will probably be more than 7%. People miught be multiplying FCF by 20, not 10. Things can get crazy. Scenarios like this could bring the stock price well over $200.

I did alot with options though (call options to be specific). Screw the stock. If RIMM goes to zero, it doesn't matter if you were leveraged or not. Options are a way to lever things. So, I did alot of options. I laugh. RIMM to $20 and I get a car. RIMM to $50 and I pay off my mortgage. RIMM to $150+ and I retire at age 37.

    I am on record here, I predicted RIM's stock to be close to $100 ($75 to $125) by Jan 2014. +-25%. :
If stock doesn't get close to $100 (+- 25%), I'll eat the metaphorical crow.
But, you, kfh227, are even more optimistic than I am

lol I should ask a penny for each $ gain if the stock is around $30-$40. Sure it'll pay my daughter's used car in 4 years

Thank you! I wish I had *more* money to invest. I could only invest in couple of hundred shares. But luck comes from unexpected quarters - you are going to buy me a flagship BB Device in January! whoa. thank you very much for that!

How do you determine possible entry point?

It's more of a calculated guess. I pick a price (in this case my target for today is <$13.30 CAD (TSX)) and stick with it. But typically watch what the stock is doing, who's doing the selling and the momentum. Daily RSI is a good indicator.

On a side note, I'm wondering what the H*** someone at CIBC is doing. Ever since they upgraded RIM stock weeks ago they have been net-negative almost daily, they've dumped A LOT of shares.

I opened a trading account with QuesTrade. It doesn't show who sold, how many. I am able to see quotes and then place my order. Don't know who is selling. So, how do you see who (CIBC) is selling?
