Simply commenting on another non-revenue generating press release. I’m sure there’s a strategy for this announcement. I just wish they could explain for us IT dummies....
I kept looking for the Google Translate button on https://blogs.blackberry.com/en/2020...erse-engineers....

Strategy is simple... PUMP, doesn't matter what it is or if it doesn't really mean anything. If marketing can spin it and push it.... media still listens to what BlackBerry says and reports it. So they should use it as much as they can....

Will this add 10% growth to Cylance at some future point in time? Maybe or Maybe not.... In the end I think potential customer for the products (or the division) will based their purchases on the whole package. So I do think this is directed mostly at investors - keeping them PUMPED.

Things like this are why I changed all my passwords to different unique passwords for each site I visit. As MOST everyone has had a breech of some sort.... Someone buys on of these list on the darkweb and tries the same username (email address in most cases) with the same password on various other sites - who know what they'll be able to access.

Mobile Nations is among the sites that have had breeches.... anyone use the same email address and password here that they used with their Banks? But BlackBerry too has had their data breached as well....

For several years have also had different passwords for each application changed once a year and a separate start password for each of my different elements of hardware. Wish I had more time to test various AntiVirus programs, but have a long standing backlog which hopefully will get reduced eventually.

I typically use the exact same password for all my critical sites like; banking, insurance and credit cards. After all who would ever guess BigBird1 for a really important password !

Not sure I would pick a Unihertz Titan to do this kind of test... unless worst case (alarmist news) is what you were shooting for. I've seen Apple or Samsung's with only 20% - 30% inefficiencies.

It is more wasteful, but we are talking tiny amounts of energy.... for the average home, the LED lights you installed to replace the compact florescent in just a couple of fixtures, will more than make up the difference.

I think what there is, is all there is right now.

My guess is maybe CES or MWC next year we will get more info. Seems to be some startup company and they are still looking for other investors to help them. https://www.onwardmobility.com/ourteam/

The seem to be focused on providing a device for Enterprise use... "mobile invincibility".

    But yes... lot's of questions.

What is different? The enterprise mobile market is very competitive - what is different from the last attempts - where's the gap?

This is the stock thread - physical keyboard does not provide a gap, we already know that - so what is it?

    BlackBerry and GAP together.... ?

This is about BlackBerry fans "maybe" getting one last shot at a phone. It's not going to move the BlackBerry Revenue or Profit needles anywhere... just have to hope it's done in a way that BlackBerry is covered, no matter how few units OnwardMobility ends up being able to move.

Since it’s a licensing deal to begin with and little detail, I doubt it will have much impact on shares once full details are known.

BlackBerry Limited has little to offer in the way of new IP unless perhaps Cylance is part of deal and even then, what’s the real demand or impact?

"mobile invincibility"... will need the whole BlackBerry kitchen sink.

What does everyone think about MobileIron exploring a potential sale to another unnamed company? With the ongoing BlackBerry litigation, does anyone think BlackBerry would take the bold step to acquire them? They do not have the cash for an "all cash" transaction, but can do a cash/share deal.

What would buying MobileIron get them?

The problem with the UEM market isn't other stand alone UEMs, it's the big companies that are offering UEM for free along with the email hosting (Microsoft and Google Business), with upgrades to other features and a whole suite of solutions. Good was necessary for BlackBerry, as BES was a terrible cross platform solution, especially with iOS. But other than buying marketshare or customers, I don't see any benefit from MobileIron.

If BlackBerry wants to buy something... it needs to be something that adds more features to SPARK to round it out and make it more competitive.

Lack of spare cash and need for better and continued execution on the Cylance acquisition with their remaining economic resources

Never happen because MobileIron would go for the typically high multiple most tech security companies go for. Blackberry is exempt from this valuation bump because...well...it's....Blackberry.
