Gotta love those fingers and how gently she holds the BlackBerry phone. Not to tight and not to loose, just perfect pressure. The thumb gently pressed against the side of the phone to balance it. Lol mates, I have been reading the wifes romance novels. Lol

"According to Blackberry's complaint last February, Nokia has infringed its patents in several of its products.
The Nokia power supply company and Canadian Blackberry have agreed to abandon claims related to Nokia's royalties for patents using general standards.

The US Federal Court in Delaware has accepted the companies' request to waive proceedings, as evidenced by court documents.
According to Blackberry's complaint last February, Nokia has infringed its patents in several of its products. The patent contract signed by the companies in 2003 has since disappeared and, according to court documents, it is currently being examined by the arbitral tribunal in Sweden. "

This would be a nice pick up if true
    Indeed

Cylance brought in $130 million in revenue for fiscal 2018, according to a press release from June. That represented 90% year-over-year growth. Cylance also lays claim to 4,000 customers, according to the release.

From the buyers side, I'd try to get a portion as BB stock, with a very limited lock-up period.

From BBs side, I would try to make it a cash only deal, as the stock seems to be trading at a (significant?) discount relative intrinsic value / potential.

That said, I think it most likely will be a cash only deal.

Having been on both ends of these type of deals...bbry does not want to issue more stock... and companies (major stakeholders) being acquired by "non blue chip" companies would prefer hard cash..... I would.

Good for bbry to use up that cash that's been doing nothing for shareholder value for years... Let's see how this unfolds...

Will wait to see the details but hope CEO Chen has his moment of genius on this move..... and can retain the top talent through incentives and payout conditions.... too many acquisitions fail as principals "escape" only to reappear three years later in another startup competing against the company they just cashed in on...Bbry needs to grow this asset and monetize it!....

Next week could be interesting for this company.

I could be wrong, but with what is public right now regarding the acquisition, I am seeing a short term negative hit to the stock price. Not seeing any reason to shed out more than $400 Million for Cylance as a standalone business, comparing to valuation of Symantec. Quick search on google trends on Cylance also not supportive of any explosive growth.

But maybe Chen is seeing some bundled synergy benefits with the sales force.

What do you guys think on the valuation of Cylance and market reaction next week?
