M8, if I may, any change on your position on SPHS?

hope this finds you in excellent health.
October can be a terrible month for stocks but we really got banged up on the IBB Index. It dropped from a major breakout area to land on the door step of a Bear Market. We can thank Trump for telling us he is going after Pharma stocks for lower drug pricing. The Biotech sector took a major hit on that news. So now the IBB Index is trying to put in a bottom this week and recoup some of the losses from October. It wasn't just healthcare, tech got hit hard as well and BB didn't miss that action either.

For me, I watched it all go down, and let's face it, we have seen this many times before during the Fall so its nothing new. Nothing has changed with SPHS, they are still going to release data on the Phase IIB second dose at the end of the year so we have to wait for that. In general, we need to see the market improve some more and the next driver is AAPL after the bell.

I'm fully invested, hold all of the positions that were in my account before this latest sell off. We will rally again going into the end of the year and on into January as usual. Nothing has changed.

As for my health, we are working out some drug issue details now and trying to put this all behind me, at least it seems there are no more surgeries so that's great news. I don't think I have another one left in me!

    Best of luck!

so, now that Apple reported less than stellar numbers, are we expecting a big tech sell off and hence a slid for BB too?

Thanks for those kind words everyone.

For me, the best part of this thread over the years has been the unwavering support. There is no thread in the world that demonstrates so much kindness & compassion to a point that you transcend feelings about money/investments and the right or wrong aspect of holding BlackBerry. I happen to like BlackBerry , some of you don't but a persons personal life never becomes a part of that argument. So thanks again.

In a perfect world I would like to see everyone make money no matter what your thoughts are on any investment. One year ago, Chen sold 1.7M shares to pay taxes and that sounded the bottom in the stock. From there, we rallied hard to the mid $ 14.00's/US. So this is the plan for the balance of this year and into January 2019. Best of luck to all.

mid $14's would be great Morgan.

but why does part of me want BB to stay repressed until my SPHS makes some big moves so I can load up more BB!

Glad you are on a path of hopefully no more operations.

    have a great weekend all!

Hi All. 7 years since our friend started this thread and so many are still here. Morgan, you bring so much positive energy here sending some back to you. So glad to see so many familiar names still here, and some new ones as well. It's been a while since I visited the thread.

I keep BB on my stock watch and when it broke 9 again recently I took a few shares, and having a few shares again, I came back here to see what the general consensus is. Before I caught up, I looked back to see when Superfly started this craziness. 7 years ago almost to the day. Amazing what happened in 7 years, like us all, BB not what it once was. Whatever you think of Lazaridis taking on QNX gave them whatever hope for the future they have now. Can you imagine the company without it?

Anyway, I'll be snooping around again, hope to contribute from time to time when appropriate.

I an article about the Symbian operating system and it is so striking how similar it is to BlackBerry. Symbian was another O/S which was similar to QNX as a "RTOS". Actually BlackBerry is actually following the exact playbook of Sony Ericsson and others before their ventures went out of business. Including switching to Android as a last ditched effort just prior to Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and Motorola's slides into oblivion.

BlackBerry Key2 LE Review: The Keyboard Warriors Finally Have Enterprise's Best Weapon
    https://www.forbes.com/sites/ewanspe.../#65b5d9d87458
This is the handset for ‘the staff’ while ’the management’ get the all-up Key2 with fewer compromises in the hardware. It’s designed to be a cost-effective handset for a workforce - as a second ‘work' device it doesn’t need the ultimate power or performance that other handset manufacturers are chasing - but if power is an area to focus on, the original Key 2 is still available.
As well as providing a more flexible PIM suite of apps for a corporate environment, the traditional strength of the BlackBerry name for security continues in the Android handsets.
