The stock's been pummeled ever since that piece came out...

Has anybody been following NantHealth lately? I remember BlackBerry made an investment in them, but I hope they sold it because after the IPO, their share price has been steadily decreasing. It's barely $4 per share now, down from $21

Of course, no BB phones involved. Could be huge for BB IMHO...

    Blackberry's exposure looks insignificant:

    " NantHealth 2014 Equity Issuances
    Blackberry Investment
On March 31, 2014, the Company issued 3,572 Series D units to BlackBerry Corporation, a leader in mobile communications, at a purchase price of $2.7995 per unit for an aggregate amount of $10,000. The two companies are collaborating on the development of HIPAA-certified integrated clinical systems that transform the delivery of medical care."

Oh wow, that certainly is insignificant...I thought it was far more than that. Why would a company their size even bother with such an insignificant investment amount

Dragonfly Capital Tumblr — Biotech is Bubbling Up

Just read this interesting article with some good technical analysis of the IBB biotech index. It looks like Biotechs are poised to retrace some ground this year. Of course we will have some political hurdles to overcome, which hopefully won't throw us off course.

BBRY is back over $7 and has 12 trading days to climb leading up to ER. Then I'm looking forward to hearing 2018 guidance from Chen. Like other have mentioned, I still believe QNX may be our ace in the hole and hope to see signs of growth there.

On a personal level (since I don't expect it to move the SP needle), I cant wait to get my hands on a KEYone!

If it was only $10K.... BlackBerry got that much in marketing value out of the deal.

I think the filing mentions those units are per thousand... making the investment more along the lines of $10 Million (also taught it was closer to $100 Million). Anyway it probably involved much more in R&D to help create the HBoxes.

It seems that BlackBerry has been taking necessary steps to lower the cost of their network? Although not sure that I'm making the right conclusions, it was 451 Reseach who mentioned it in their report a few weeks ago that BlackBerry's 'network' (the data centers?) are an expensive asset, especially because their IoT/QNX business (Radar, OTA,...) hasn't made up for the hardware business (SAF)? Or do they mean something else when they refer to the network?

Could the data centers be a significant part of the corporate unallocated costs? I hope they did a good deal there. Hopefully sold it off without any major writedowns, and hopefully with good terms for the use of data center space going forward.

    Good read:

QNX: Midwife of the (Secure) Connected Car

It's likely that cars will never be truly secure. The best consumers and the industry can hope for is to mitigate the threats. They will never be eliminated. But the company with the best track record along with the greatest exposure - Blackberry - ought not to be considered a suspect. Blackberry's QNX is part of the solution and has been for 20 years.
    Thanks, J!

I hope BlackBerry updates the number of vehicles with QNX on board soon. It has been stalled in the press at 60 million for some time now.

Lol. All this talk about KeyOne, I thought I would mention that I received an 800mb BlackBerry 10 update for my trusty-rusty Passport last night. No noticable changes yet, but things are a tad snappier.

    Holding into ER....
