    OT interesting reading for after-hours:

    Your car will be recalled in 2017 thanks to poor open-source security | ZDNet
    "A typical new car now contains over 100 million lines of code, and together with an internet connection, vulnerabilities are likely to be found. Security experts believe yet another open-source software security catastrophe is on the horizon -- but this time, your car is the target. "
    Yet people simply don't care. Immediate satisfaction runs today's world. Long term is a foreign concept. Well, unless it's oil, but then they have absolutely no idea the role oil has in the even smallest aspects of their day to day life.

    Perhaps new thinking is needed by BlackBerry... license to those in China who know how to compete to win against giant incumbents...

    Thanks dimi!

    From those last two posts...

    If there were any lingering questions about what BlackBerry is today, they were answered at the BlackBerry Developer Summit, held November 17 at the NASDAQ stock market headquarters in New York City. It was clear from the moment the Summit opened that we've completed our transformation into an enterprise software-focused company.

    Now what only remains is when we hear from BlackBerry that "we have completed our transformation into a profitable, revenue growing enterprise software focused company"

    Forecasts for next reporting period..any thoughts from our experts?

    Q2 Fiscal 2017 (reported Sept 2016)

    Mobility Solutions: 105 (30%)
    SAF: 91 (26%)

    Q3 Fiscal 2017 (reporting Dec 2016)

    Will revs finally uptick (>352)?
    Will Software and Services >= 50 %?
    Will Mobility Solutions > last quarter's?
    EPS?

    Ok here's my estimate!
    Rev: 331
    Software & Services:: 163
    Mobility soln: 94.5

    Not an expert.. but here's a go:

    Just considering what John stated '30% rev growth in software and services for full fiscal year', there's still about $363 million in revenues for S&S to be accounted for.

    My estimate: (Non-GAAP)

    Rev: 341.94

    Software & Services:: 181.5 (~16% increase q/q)
    Mobility soln: 84 (20% decline q/q)
    SAF: 76.44 (16% decline q/q)

    This is very interesting. By putting content and various services (apps) into BBM, which operates on Android, IOS, and BB10, could this be a longer term strategy to bring more 'apps' to BB10 ? Via BBM?

    For me, a Priv at $300 USD (I just saw the killer ShopBlackBerry deal) is really a steal. I like the Priv, and would recommend it to anyone that wants the keyboard experience. Looking at randall2580's reply, some people did really get a bad batch of Priv's. Mine has held up fairly well, the only complaint is the occasional heating issue. Mine doesn't crash or anything like that (disclaimer: I am on the latest beta build).

    I say definitely play around with the phone and see how you like it. It's a good phone and the heating issues can be minimized. Some apps like Snapchat are really unoptimized for android, and applications like that cause hanging/lagging issues a lot more than it would normally.

    Note: Seeing that you're coming from a Passport, the battery life is definitely not as strong. When I used to own a passport, I could go almost a day and a half on one charge. Priv lasts me about 12 hours of moderate use.

    I hope you like it!
    Sorry to be late to the party, but if you ask me, given the current discounts, for a test drive or a second device my choice would be DTEK50. And ... finally use it #1 ...
    I still remember the 3 weeks I spent with it, how thin an light this thing is, how I appreciate the speakers.

    I use Priv as may main/daily driver and there's not much I dislike about it ... beside the weight and the somehow bulky feeling you have with the slider KB (never use it, unless to "impress" and in come rare occasions like a better grip/action for videos).
    $0.02 and hey all, miss ya.

    Short interest as of 11/15
    Up about 300K shares from 61.75M to 62.5M
    Price from end of October to Nov 15th was $7 to $7.53 on the 15th.

    Also regarding changes in holders. Try this site to just give a summary and include the owners of options.
    https://holdingschannel.com/funds/holding-bbry/

    The largest net buyer was Iridian Asset Mgmt. With 14.4M shares bought and a new position. While that name may not resonate like other well known ones. It actually subadvises the First Eagle Fund of America (Mid Cap Value Fund), hence why First Eagle shows up as well on the new holders list. Their long term performance has been stellar, however as with most value managers the past several years have been not as great with growth (mainly Large Cap) outperforming.
