    Very briefly, great company, best of breed, really solid stock during a difficult time in the market and could add to its comeback in a big way from here if the numbers beat. I don't own it but I really like it just the same. I can't predict their numbers so sorry about that! GL

    Thanks Morgan, I really appreciate it. Not that I'm invested in Alcoa, just wanted a thought on Market sentiment before the bell.

    Corbu you're the best! But stating that I ask and I will receive might be the biggest mistake you have made, after all my user name is bbjdog. Lol

    Cheers!

    I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but I just read an article saying BBRY should use QNX as an open source OS.
    Should BlackBerry Revive QNX? - BlackBerry Ltd. (NASDAQ:BBRY) | Seeking Alpha
    QNX was closed source, went open source for a few years, then went closed source again. Whether going open source again is a good idea or not, I doubt it'll happen. QNX has stated several times that some of their customers need to know if QNX can certify their code, and the only way they can do it is to say they wrote it all themselves...hence closed source. I don't think QNX has aspirations of becoming a general purpose desktop OS. The world already has Linux for that. The problem for QNX is that Silicon Valley is trying to shoehorn Linux into everything.

    We will support BB10 for minimum two more years as a lot of governments are using it, such as Canada, the US, Germany and UK. Two more operating releases are coming out one this year and one by April and then we will assess, said John Chen, executive chairman and CEO of BlackBerry.

    After two years, it depends on how much security we can pack into Android. If we can make Android phone as secure as Blackberry 10, which will be difficult, but if we can make it then the two lines will merge. If it doesnt, then I have to look for an answer to the customer, he said.

    "If we can..." was the exact statement John Chen made when he joined the company. Two years later, they can't. It's no mystery when the green light will flash : same level of certification than BB10 for DOD and the likes. Oh... maybe you wanted a date ? All I have is : eventually.
    Don't bury BB10 (or its successor *!shocked!*) too fast, Batman!

    The stock is at rock bottom and still this level of short Interest!... pathetic! ..Blackberry Board / CEO Chen should aggressively look to sell the company... or announce strategic partners... something...

    Well, if they are pursuing strategic options, let's hope they do it quietly this time?

    If Chen is serious about 30% organic growth in software, though, I would argue investors would be better off if BBRY stays independent for at least another year. Wouldn't you agree?

    If they deliver on that 30%, BBRY should be worth more a year from now.

    Sorry mate.... stock price says it all ... last quarter big miss on hardware.. their flagship device fails to deliver.. HW is toast... drank too much blackberry cool aid I guess the past 12 years .... and invested long when I should not have... lost big.. or will, unless there is a turnaround... the company has over half of its revenues in areas that will go to zero... hardware and SAF... where is the upside? .. last quarter turned my mood really sour...

    Keep in mind, the street would probably reward them dropping hardware. Even though it's still a large chunk of the top line, it's consistently hurting the bottom line. This would be one of the few times less revenue but higher eps would result in a higher sp.

    Nicely done John Chen! Why bother with a company that would only support iPhone sales. If my memory serves me right, Sprint made a good hefty agreement with Apple. They had to purchase so many iPones. Give support to those who support BlackBerry.

    Sorry mate can't tell you what do do, but if you drink a beer instead of a Blackberry cool aid it may help(joking). You knew SAF would eventually go to zero years ago. If you were to be sour it would be then. So you don't like the direction that the software is heading? The stock price is around where it was prior to the ER. If you bought below 7.00 and sold above 8.00, you would make money. If you played Calls and Puts you would protect your investment. Next ER try a straddle in options. Cheers!

    From my TD elert:

    Servomex Selects QNX to Power Gas Analysis for Safety-Critical Environments
    2016-04-12 09:00:00 AM ET (Marketwire Canada)
    * *
    * *
    QNX Software Systems Limited, a subsidiary of BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ:BBRY)(TSX:BB), today announced that Servomex Group, a world leader in gas analysis technology, has chosen the QNX(R) Neutrino(R) Realtime OS to power its next generation of gas analyzers.

    For 60 years, Servomex gas analyzers have helped control emissions, optimize processes, and ensure operational safety in industries such as electricity generation, oil and gas refining, semiconductor manufacturing, chemical production, and iron and steel production. To power its next generation of analyzers, Servomex needed a high-performance OS that has the flexibility to support an array of market-specific applications and the reliability to be deployed in safety-critical environments.

    "Servomex offers an immense range of gas analyzers, and we needed an OS that could scale effortlessly across product lines, regardless of feature set or target industry," said Dr. Stephen Firth, Business Development Manager, Global EPC sales, Servomex. "QNX Neutrino not only provided the scalability we were looking for, but allowed us to create a modular, future-ready software architecture that can quickly support new product features or address new market opportunities."

    Reliability was a key requirement for Servomex. Many of their products are deployed in hot, hazardous conditions where they must operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without field maintenance or human intervention.

    "We build gas analyzers for tough, safety-critical environments that demand high levels of accuracy and system availability. To satisfy these demands, our products need an OS designed from the ground up for dependability - another reason why QNX Neutrino, with its fault-resilient microkernel design, has proven to be an ideal choice for our next-generation products," said Dr. Firth.

    Ha! Ha! Do Not Post Your Chart Superfly! Let's not jinx this rally!

    The DOW Jones needs to rally and actually hold its gains and then the rest of the stocks can follow. We would be higher if the DOW indicated another leg up from here. Hold your breath, we can do this ...................

    M8 hate to bother you with this but what's your updated thought on the ECA trade? Bollinger bands are tightening and volume is still relatively low, i was looking at the CMF and reading up on the bb squeeze on the chart and it looks like it might go to the downside..but im not confirmed yet. Thoughts?

    Update: ECA just broke thru 200ema but on light volume...im starting to wonder if this is a headfake, they reached 70 rsi now too going into weekend with DOHA opec meeting
