    My two cents worth!

Next BlackBerry/Android phone should be updated Passport.

Next BB10 (IF) phone should be an updated Priv.
If the Priv had a bb10 version, I would have bought it day one.
    I love bb10.

    Come on Priv 2.0.bb10.4!

I know, I know, the drivers are very expensive, then keep the same internal hardware as the passport, update camera and 1more gb of ram and boom there it is

Me too. But I am not as nice as you are in that I want a BB10 Priv and I want all of it, with the best specs, no compromises.

BlackBerry would have savings and expenses, but they CAN NOT be cheap on specs. I can read and hear the Propaganda machine turning it wheels.

BlackBerry should stick with what's working and not waste money on creating a new phone every three month's. It's not like they ask bbjdog to sit in a basement and design/create a new phone for ten dollars.

Yeah I would not put 800$ on the table for an equivalent phone than the one I have been using for one year +

As I would also, However, we aren't a big enough market it seems.

Alas, I did my share and bought a Priv. Very nice hardware indeed.

As I had 4 Android phones and 3 Android tablets prior, I already knew #DroidSux.

2 of my Android phones and 1 of my Android tablets will soon be in the hands of new Canadians who are refugees from Syria.

Thanks! I have the leather pouch, but it's not entirely convenient. May have to get this, but will wait for more color options (I'm partial to tan).

Just got back from watching "The Big Short"... Pretty good movie... I'm sure many on this thread would enjoy it... Anyone familiar with the mortgage crisis and the cause of the 2008 market crash won't learn anything new here but still its another point of view from people who speculated, got laughed at and in the end made huge profits.. Kinda reminds me of a certain company that we all seem to believe in so much too....

Follow kbz1960's instructions from that thread.

"First go on the BlackBerry Protect website and remove the phone on there. Then turn protect off on the phone then wipe it or run an autoloader. "

    FWIW:
Blackberry Priv Overshadows Apple iPhone in 2015

Bidness Etc believes Blackberry Ltd will emerge as the winner in 2016 with the success of the Priv

While we have established that Apple did not have a great 2015, this year did witness the rise of the Phoenix; as Blackberry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) rose from the ashes. The Blackberry Priv has been the talk of the town. Turnaround specialist, CEO John Chen made the leap of faith by adopting Google’s Android for the smartphone.

Eyes rolled as Android is open-source, which means anyone can access the code. Blackberry assured its loyal customers that Privacy and Security were still at the core of the company. Mr. Chen promised that the OS would receive regular updates and so far, Blackberry is delivering on this promise. The company was also awarded with the Reuter’s Top 100 Global Innovators this year for the unique design of the Priv.

Blackberry fell to non-existence when it underestimated the power of the iPhone and lost out to the disruption in touch-screen technology. The company's market share faded into oblivion while it continued to cling to the keyboard.

Blackberry used the notion of nostalgia to reel users back to the company. Lack of apps was the major drawback for BBOS, which Android eventually managed to fix. The Priv, with its 5.4 inch Quad-HD curved screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808, massive battery and 3GB of RAM is a multi-tasking power machine. The touchscreen is good though it's not as accurate as a slide-out keyboard with a 5.4 inch device. The reviews began to flow in; some liked it, some hated it and some were on the fence. However, as Mr. Walt Mossberg stated, the company used the keyboard as an element of nostalgia to remind people of the life they had before the touch screen.

We used the Priv and found that the only reason we didn’t like the keyboard was that it was difficult to get back in the habit of using it. However, as weeks progressed, the keyboard became a natural part of the process. It seems that Blackberry is geared for 2016 with a couple more smartphones to test the waters again.

A recent Blackberry earnings called revealed that the company managed to sell 700,000 units in the hardware division. Since the breakdown wasn’t available, we can’t ascertain if 100% of those sales came from the Priv but it showed signs of a turnaround.

Blackberry managed to make the tech world talk about its phone and that was exactly the kind of publicity it wanted. At $699, the Priv was $50 more expensive than the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone. However, the Priv is a more exciting phone. The iPhone 6s failed to raise the bar and other phones got a chance to shine bright. The Blackberry Priv is one of them.
