Only 1.6M shares purchased? I guess they will load up before Q4.

I noticed that too...likely held back to stay cash flow positive as per Chen's promise. Also could be holding back in case SP runs over 10 and we get conversions.

"Quarterly revenue fell 31 percent to $548 million from a year earlier, but rose 12 percent from the prior quarter, after nine consecutive quarters of declines."

Hey guys, remember when BBRY bears couldn't get past declining revenues for the past (9) quarters and used it to drive the SP down over and over? What will they say now? Get ready for some analyst target increases. This is the start of what might be a very looooong run up.

I was disappointed in that number too. I want to know how many Priv they booked in this quarter, that will be a possible huge driver if it is North of 50,000 units. Let's listen in ............

Oh yeah, we need to close above $ 8.35/shr today to clear the 200-dma and rally from here.

Using $ 250 ASP they sold 890,000 handsets so they beat on everything but GAAP. GAAP is the only messy part of this report so it now comes down to the details on actual handset sales and we'll get that later today when they file. This is a great report with some beats coming in areas that not even the most optimistic analysts could have imagined.
The debenture repricing makes GAAP kind of useless anyways.

If software is a clean number, with no IP deals, then this is a very strong result.

Software up 111%. There must be some patent revenue there.

    Hardware up 6%.

    SAF down 18%.

It all comes down to the amount of the patent revenue, if any.

162M software, 70% recurring, and forecast Q4/Q3 increase. Breaking full fiscall 500M including IP.

...'Up to' 20m...(just bc it's approved doesn't mean it'll be done). Right now they just seem to be covering dilution.

I don't see why this stock doesn't go back to $10 with these numbers. Especially with Priv just getting going and the forecast of growing business segments.

It will be a slow and steady ride from here to 10 before the next ER. There will be some spikes along away when Verizon/Tmobil/Spring announce Priv support.

Well, if it's recurring, then who cares? The market has been valuing the patents at zero anyways. Less than $50m of the quarters revenues were one-time, so likely most of that is IP

What if I told you that the stock market is irrational and it only seems to make sense because we retrospectively create stories about why things happened so the world still makes 'sense'

All coming down to IP again. If $162M is a true run rate figure then hold on to you purses.

Did we ever get confirmation on whether the licencing deals were one time or continual?

They told you that 70% of the 162m is recurring. AtHoc and Good revenues are now BlackBerry revenues. I don't know why everyone contorts themselves so much to try to make things look bad...oh wait...

Well the Cisco deal seemed to mostly be one time and this quarter it's a mix.
